In fall of 2011, one of the world’s greatest visionaries and the great mind behind Apple’s innovative creations, Steve Jobs, passed away due to pancreatic cancer. And since Jobs led such a high profile life, people around the world wanted to know his life story, from his struggles to the success he has achieved during his time on earth. It wasn’t months later that Apple News released a statement to the press about the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic that they were working on. Since then, rumors and speculations have arisen in voluminous amounts flooding the online world. Who will play Steve Jobs? Who are the other characters in the movie? When will it be released? Who is set to produce the film? These are only some of the questions that arose when Apple News did their press release.

Steve Jobs’ Life and Impact On Modern Technology

Almost all people know who Jobs is and what he contributed to our world, from his personal computer revolution to Apple’s bestselling gadgets, such as the iPhone and iPad. Without Steve Jobs and his brilliant and world-changing ideas, we wouldn’t have personal computers as advanced today or mouse-driven graphic user interface that has led to the invention of the Apple Lisa. However, Steve Jobs wasn’t only known for his brilliant work in Apple. His past careers included creating NeXT computer after a power struggle with Apple and working with Pixar and Disney for a couple of years. These are only some of the things that make Jobs’ life so interesting and intriguing that a film about his life story was in order.

Aaron Sorkin Slotted to Write the Script

After the speculations that Jobs’ life story would be turned into a movie, Sony immediately swept off the rights in working in this project. And guess who’s the top pick to write the screenplay? Aaron Sorkin, who is known for his screenplay work in A Few Good Men, The West Wing and his most recent, The Social Network. Apparently, this particular project will be a film that Sony would want on the fast lane. However, as reported by Cinema blend and E!Online, the screenplay director stated, “Right now I’m just in the thinking-about-it-stages. It’s a really big movie and it’s going to be a great movie no matter who writes it.” Though the statement is quite logical and true, not everyone would be able to pull off portraying Jobs’ life. Whichever the case may be, this upcoming biopic is definitely a promising one, given that it is managed by the right hands.

Who Will Star?

Another rumor flooding the streets is that George Clooney and Noah Wyle are battling it out to play the part of Steve Jobs. The rumor and question of whom will be a better star to play the part of Jobs has been addressed by mixed reviews and opinions. For Noah Wyle, his experience in playing as Steve Jobs in Pirates of Silicon Valley was rated as sort of good. Moreover, Noah looks somewhat similar to the late Steve Jobs, making him one of the top choices for the role. On the other hand, George Clooney is by nature a really good actor. However, his face is less identical with Jobs’. Depending on the right writer, director, cast and crew, it may be a film that will go down in history, since Jobs is a figure unparalleled in the modern world.

The iPhone is hot enough by itself, but add the software and it is blazing hot. The following are just examples of the best you can find. These are the best 7 that can be had. It is hard to judge what the top apps are, since there are so many different categories of apps and each category has its own stars. If you have these 7 though, you can’t go wrong.

Angry Birds

Of course you’ve heard of Angry Birds. It’s perhaps the most addictive game for iPhone today. You take revenge on green, ugly hogs for stealing and eating your eggs. Yes, you are the birds whose babies were maliciously and deliciously eaten by those alien monster pigs. The game goes on for 255 levels and costs a mere buck.

Skype

The cool thing about Skype for the iPhone is that you can choose to call either over wi-fi or 3G to any of your Skype contacts. The quality is quite close to that of a CD recording as well. While you may pay for data charges with your carrier, the Wi-Fi and 3G calls to anyone on Skype are free. The rate for international calls to anyone who does not have Skype is still quite low.

Camera+

Camera+ is the best replacement app for the default app, some of the features putting it to shame. Camera+ delivers 27 effects, 9 lighting scenes, and 18 border decorations. Better than all these are the auto focus and auto exposure. The stabilizer is great for shaky hands. Delay and burst can be useful as well. Delay simply applies a small delay prior to taking the photo. Burst mode takes multiple successive shots as you press and hold the shoot button.

Doodle Jump (w/Multiplayer Support)

Here comes another highly addictive game, navigating moving, disappearing, breaking, and exploding platforms up a graph paper. Fight monsters, get past black holes, and watch out for those UFO’s. Many devices are there to assist you like the jet packs, rockets, and the propeller hats. There are 8 worlds and you can compete against FaceBook players as well.

Smart Dating

If you are into dating, either because you are serious about finding the right partner or you just enjoy the activity, this app will empower you beyond your wildest dreams. As you might expect, you can easily post photos and videos and it integrates with FaceBook. You have a Hot List with your favorite daters. But better than all these is the Geotargeting feature: Proxidating. You can even use this app for your married relationship in order to stay in closer contact through an app designed for romance.

Dropbox

Dropbox adds a shared folder to your iPhone that you can access from other designated computers. You can make a folder publicly accessible as well. Although it is advertised as a backup solution this is not as feasible as you imagine. The free version of the online service allows for up to 2G of data at any time. For the monthly fee you get 100G. The best thing about this app is that the interface is practically invisible.

iPrompts

This last one you won’t find on any of the top iPhone apps lists, though this kind of app deserves much higher profile coverage than it receives. If you have a child then this app could help you in your parenting. It lays out the child’s day in cartoon graphic form, with a countdown to help the child realize that time is passing and that there is a need to accomplish the task at a certain time. It is a bit pricey, but of course, your child is worth the investment.

When the iPad first came out, it was not the ideal device for blogging. The apps available to bloggers were either oddly formatted or allowed very limited use. Fortunately, many of these apps have been updated and greatly improved. Currently, these 10 apps make the iPad one of the best devices for busy bloggers on the go.

10 iPad Apps that Every Blogger Needs:

1. WordPress: The WordPress app is perfect for any blogger that currently uses, or plans on using, WordPress. While this app was poorly designed at first, it has since been updated and improved. The layout makes the app easy to write and publish blog posts, moderate comments, and perform a variety of other tasks.

2. Evernote: Evernote is an app that allows users to create an organized database of notes. If a writer has an idea for their next blog, they can add a written note or even record an audio note. Each note is tagged and labeled to keep things as organized as possible. Users may even save data and pictures off the web and sync their notes to their iPhone and/or computer.

3. SimpleSense: SimpleSense was actually created for the iPhone, but works just fine on the iPad. This app was designed for AdSense users that want easy access to their account. Users can use this app to view their stats and track the earnings from their blogs.

4. PingDom: Nothing is worse than accessing your blog, only to find that the page is down. Fortunately, PingDom will make it so blog owners are never caught by surprise. Anytime a user’s blog is down or suffering difficulties, PingDom will let the user know, so they can quickly address the problem.

5. BlogPress: BlogPress is another app that helps users access their blogs from their iPad. Users can create and publish blogs, edit posts, and moderate comments from the BlogPress app. However, unlike the WordPress app, BlogPress will also sync with a user’s Blogger and MovableType account(s). This app will also pull information from users’ Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Picasa, and Flickr account to provide the most convenient experience possible.

6. TextExpander Touch: TextExpander allows users to create their own little snippets that expand to the text they choose. Bloggers that regularly include hyperlinks or pictures in their posts will really appreciate this app. An example of a possible snippet would be “i”, which could be set to expand to Instead of typing out long texts, users could use TextExpander to save themselves some time.

7. DropBox: DropBox helps users store and share files between their different devices or with others. DropBox gives each user 2GB of free storage, which can help to free up space on their iPad or computer. PDFs, images, documents, and other data can all be shared using DropBox.

8. Pulse: Most bloggers pull ideas from their favorite news and media outlets. Pulse helps users access the top news from all of their favorite websites. Instead of visiting a number of different sites individually, users can access their Pulse app to stay up to date on the breaking news from all of their favorite sites at once.

9. SpiltBrowser: One of the iPad’s biggest setbacks is that it only allows users to look at one internet page at a time. Fortunately, with SplitBrowser users can look at two. This is great for bloggers that like to research and blog at the same time.

10. TweetDeck: It’s safe to say that most people who blog also use Twitter. Twitter is a great way of staying on top of the latest news, hottest topics, and is an overall great source of inspiration. This app makes it easy for bloggers to access their latest tweets and let the Twitterverse know about their latest blog posts.

iPhone vs. iPad: Which is best for you to buy?

There has been a lot of speculation over the past year regarding two highly pronounced Apple devices; iPhone verse iPad, and which provides the best bang for your buck. Both the iPhone and the iPad provide very similar characteristics and benefits within a smooth, sleek, handheld design. They also allow usability for web browsing, e-mail correspondence, gaming, music, videos and more.

The real question is, if you’re an Apple lover and currently invested in the iPhone, is it necessary to buy an iPad? Unfortunately, this answer truly depends on how you wish to use the iPad. For some, the iPad and iPhone deem to provide two separate platforms. One is a pocket held device and serves as a phone and the other has replaced daily usage of a laptop.

However, given the profound statistics that over 1.5 million units of the iPad have been sold in a month’s time and is seen as the fastest adopted hardware in history, it’s no surprise that the iPad has several advantages over the iPhone. Some of these advantages include more memory space, higher screen resolution, larger screen, larger keyboard, iBooks and more apps.

Memory

The iPad offers both the configurations as the iPhone 3GS (16GB or 32GB) in addition to 64GB. The iPad also allows users to choose a Wi-Fi only connection or Wi-Fi and 3G connection.

Higher Screen Resolution

The iPhone currently has a screen resolution of 480 x 320. The iPad is fully supported with a 1,024 x 768 pixel resolution, offering greater visual aspects than any prior device.

Larger Screen

The iPad creates the ultimate Apple experience on a larger display area. The iPad has a 9.7 inch touch screen where the iPhone 3GS has a 3.5-inch display.

Larger Keyboard

The keyboard is much larger than the iPhone given the larger screen, making typing easier than ever before. Turing the iPhone 90 degrees from its upright position provides even more keyboard space for the user.

iBooks

iBooks allows users to buy, download, and read eBooks, exclusively on the iPad. Users can browse a library as displayed on a bookshelf, tap a book to open it, flip through pages and bookmark passages. It serves as a single location for reading in a small compact, digital form.

iPad has reached 60,000 to 70,000 applications that aren’t offered on any other platform, making daily tasks a breeze for owners.

iPhone 3GS available on Orange with tiny usage!

So the iPhone 3GS is finally going to be available on the Orange network on the 10th November, but at what cost? And what are the options for those that wish to surf the net and use the iPhone to its full advantage?

Well the basic 8GB model on Pay As You Go (PAYG) will set you back £343 and a fair usage policy of 750MB, now personally I think the price isn’t that bad, but, the usage seems a bit low to me, surely with the way people use mobiles theses days for surfing the net, tweeting, checking emails and FaceBook etc. this seems a tad tight to me and should be either doubled or unlimited.

Of course you can also pay monthly, but, you still only get 750MB of fair usage!

So is it better to get your iPhone with O2 or wait for another service provider to start selling the iPhone in the UK?

I’ve been waiting for the Apple iPhone to come out as Pay & Go and now the opportunity is here for me to get one!

The iPhone 3G has fast 3G wireless technology, GPS, support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more amazing features in your hands. And just like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device.

So I’m off to see how much cash I’ve got left for Christmas and see if I can get myself one
