The iPod nano is great for the small collection, but the new 120GB iPod Classic is more for me, it’s boasts that you can fit 30,000 tracks and upto a massive 150 hours of video, but you have to take into consideration that the 30,000 tracks is at a 128kbps and an average of four minutes a track, I know I’ve used 14GB so far that’s with over 250 photos and 2600+ tracks, but some of the track are recorded in 256kbps (which is now what iTunes+ uses) and taking into consideration that some tracks are well over four minutes, such as the classic Yes album Relayer and a collection of Tangerine Dream albums where the tracks are mostly over ten minutes at least.

But I must say that it’s certainly better than having decide what will fit and what is worth leaving on when syncing the iPod, knowing that everything will fit on, I’m just in the process of adding my CD collection as well as CD Single to iTunes now so that I can listen to whatever I want when I’m at work, it’ll be interesting to see how much I can fit on!

The only other thing then is, it’s all very well having 120GB to put your music on, but then you have to make sure that you have enough room on your hard drive for the tracks!

Luckily I have a 30GB hard drive and 25GB hard drive in my computer, the 25 is from my old computer and a 160GB external drive, which is what I use for storing all my files such as photos and music etc. , But I dare say that the day will come when I need to upgrade my 160GB hard drive to something more meaty like a 500GB or maybe a 1TB drive, tasty
