So there I was browsing through BlogEngage and voting on some interesting article, when I came upon a post with an animation on YouTube titled Pigeon: Impossible, which had me in stitches.

Apple iPod + YouTubeI tried to explain this funny short to a friend of mind and they just didn’t get it, so they asked me if I could put it on my iPod to show them, hmmm, now I wasn’t sure if this was possible, so I searched the net and after several websites claiming they knew how it could be done, but they didn’t seem to work, I found myself on a website with a download of a Free YouTube to iPod Convertor.

Now I did have my doubts on whether this would actually work, but I shouldn’t of!

The program is so easy to use just download it, install it and run it, yes it’s that simple, then all your need to do is copy the URL of the video on YouTube and then add the downloaded and converted video to your iTunes, easy!

The output files are saved in MP4 or 3GP formats into the program’s folder in My Documents, and they retain the name of the source video. They are ready to playback on your iPod, PSP, BlackBerry or mobile phone.

So I’ve tried it and it works, I’ve got the funny video on my iPod and my friend loved it. I probably won’t use this a lot, but it will certainly help on tuition videos that are on YouTube, I mean sometimes it’s just easier to have them on my iPod and watch them when Ive got a bit of spare time and this isn’t always when I’m connected to the net.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Powermat. All opinions are 100% mine.

Now there comes a time when having stacks of gadgets such as an iPhone, iPod, Blackberry or even an Nintendo DS, you find yourself with a mass of cables to plug-in to charge your gadgets, which can sometimes be quite frustrating, for starters, where the heck do you put the charger.

 Powermat Wireless Charging!

But with wireless charging technology this will be a thing of the past, now it’s even easier to charge those gadgets with the use of the Powermat this handy “mat” you simply place the mat on a surface and place your gadget on the mat to start charging, how awesome is that, no more tangled mess of cords or searching for the right adaptor and best of all the mat is easy to use at home, at the office, on the road.

I know that I would personally find a Wireless Charging Powermat a real bit of useful kit there is many a time I come home from work and just want to sit down and relax and not have to search for the right charger for my phone to charge and just be able to pu the phone down and for it to start charging, less hassle and more time to spend doing other things.

Monkey Dust Liar CliveNow I’ve always been a fan of the TV show Monkey Dust that used to be on BBC Three some years ago with it’s quirky characters and amazing music, this is the show that introduced me to the wonderful musical talents of Goldfrapp and Boards of Canada!

So since having a trusty iPod I’ve been collecting the tracks that have been on the several series that the show ran over and as I type this post I now have 22 tracks, yes that many!

I was getting a bit tired of manually updating my Twitter with what I was listening to on iTunes or my iPod and scrobbling to last.fm via TwittyTunes, so I wondered if there was some way around this!

twitterfeed My Experiment with Twitter, Twitterfeed & Last.fmAfter quite a while searching the net for some kind of plugin, I couldn’t really find anything, so I decided to utilise Twitterfeed to take the automation side of Twitting my recently plays!

So after logging into Twitterfeed with my OpenID I was off, first thing was to create a new feed and then fill in all the required info such as Twitter name etc and then to enter the rss feed I wanted to Twit.

mini red rev My Experiment with Twitter, Twitterfeed & Last.fmNow it was a case of finding the feed I wanted to use, so I opened another browser tab to last.fm and found the feed for my recent played tracks and copied the URL, then entered it into the option on Twitterfeed, I opted for an hourly update and for five updates each time.

Twitterfeed settingsOnce you have clicked Update you will be taken to your feeds page, it will take a little while before your feed is checked and goes live, but if everything is ok, you should see your scrobbles appearing on your Twitter, you can see what they look like on my Twitter.

In theory you should be able to do this with other last.fm feeds such as your recently loved tracks for example ;)

If your like me you will have a great collection of Vinyl albums, with a slight crackle, that you can’t get on tape, minidisc or CD probably due to the fact that the release has been deleted, so you can either put the album on a tape, but how many people have tapes in their cars these days, or you can convert your LP direct to digital format!

The LP Saver is an ideal piece of kit for doing this it plugs directly into your computer via the USB socket and your away.

USBTurntable

The Turntable even comes with standard RCA cables to conect up to your standard sound system, now you can add your LPs to your iPod and even burn them onto CD to play in your car for example!

The LP Saver with play speeds of 33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM so that should cover most peoples collection. All the necessary software comes with the turntable. In addition, not only can you convert your albums to MP3s or any other digital files, but the included software actually improves the quality of the recordings by eliminating some of the old pops, hisses and static they’ve acquired over the years. Finally, the tone arm returns to the armrest at the end of the record, just like old times.
