Now I have to admit that I have been listening to emorej for quite some time now and a review is really overdue, so I decided to bring you a review of their album “hellofanatic, hellofanattic” which was released in May so it is a recent album.

First let me introduce you to Emorej:

Emorej aka Jerome,  started making music by joining the acidplanet remix contests around 2002, slowly He started creating original songs usually based on samples, later on virtual instruments were incorporated into the music.

Basically, he makes electronic music in all forms and genres, but not limited to electronica, the songs reflect his eclectic taste. He likes to surprise people, keeping them guessing what he will do next.

Now on to the review

For those of you out there who are passionately about wonderful music then emorej is certainy something that you must listen to, if you like bands such as Moby, Orbital, Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Shadow and Avalanches  then you really can’t give emorej a miss.

Anyhoo! On to the album, as I mentioned earlier I have been listen to emorej for some time now and though it is very hard to pick out one album that I can say is my all time favourite it is very hard, but for instrumental albums, I have to go with “Hellofanatic, Hellofanattic”.

It’s one of those albums that has so many catchy tunes that don’t interfere with what you are doing and the songs seamlessly cross from one to the next, the beats are perfect, not too fast and not too slow.  It is enjoyable album to listen to right from the first track “Sunshine” up to the last track “At The Lounge”.

The album is not so much a chill out album, but an album that keeps you on your toes, specially with the tunes that run through it, every step of the way this album will delight even those that have never listed to the electronic genre. but don’t take my word for it, take a listen for yourselves and a enjoy the wonderous sounds of Emorej.

Don’t forget to follow @EmorjMusic on twitter and also check out Emorej at BandCamp ,SoundCloud, Jamendo and FaceBook.

The other day I posted about if you have a donate button on your blogand the comments have been very interesting, so I thought I would continue on the subject but this time with a different outlook on the debate of Donate Buttons.

So I’m going to ask you all something about the side of donating to Blazing Minds, if I was to give away one of our albums to download to each person that donates a minimum amount of say £2.99 would you be more likely to donate to the blog and support my music project? For example you can currently get one of the Remergence EPs for £2.99 you could get that if you wanted ;)

Yes I know this is probably the same as buying an album, but, with a difference that you could decide on the amount you wish to donate it could be more if you so wish.

Then anyone who donates is actually getting a little something back, anyway, let me know what you all think and if it looks good I will update the donate button to something like “Donate to Blazing Minds and get an album download”

Those of us that have upgraded to the latest incarnation of iTunes may of noticed that the option to upgrade previously purchased tracks to the iTunes Plus versions has disappeared from the iTunes music store page.

Some users do have the option in the iTunes store page at the top right of the screen under quick links and others don’t, some can even get the option back by signing out of their account and then signing back in again, but for the majority of iTunes users the link to the iTunes Plus Upgrade page has gone, never to return.

If you do want to find the page to upgrade your previously purchased iTunes store tracks then simply follow this link to the iTunes Plus Upgrade page and you can then be able to upgrade your tracks to that better quality.

Hope this helps ;)

This is probably a question that a lot of people are asking these days, what with the recession going on and lack of money in our pockets.

So how do you get your hands on music from the internet that is legal to download?

mini red rev How to get your hands on free legal music downloads!A great way to artist that you enjoy is to be a member of Last.FM, on the home page when you are logged in you’ll see down towards the bottom of the page a “Free Downloads” section, this will have a selection of free legal music downloads that your favourite artists have available for your to download, now I’m not saying you’ll get free tracks from top artists all the time, but you’ll certainly get a good collection of tracks to download….

amie2 logo How to get your hands on free legal music downloads!Another fantastic place for free music, if your quick, is Amie Street, I personally use Amie Street a lot myself and you can get new releases from some of the top artists, but with the big names you have to be quick, as an example: I downloaded the new Crystal Method album Divided by Night for the crazy cost of around $2 yes that right, but within minutes the price had shot up.

But Amie Street is also great for discovering new artists and their releases are also free, the system works in a way that all releases are free until they get popular and then the price goes up gradually, so been first in is ideal, I would highly recommend Amie Street.

There are of course other sites out there that are similar, but these are the main two that I use to get my hands on some excellent music for free and for a fraction of the cost of other retailers.
