OK folks a little something special for you today, those that read the Blazing Minds blog will have seen me mention Point FM several times and particularly when I was interviewed by them at Apollo Cinemas Rhyl about my movie reviews. So I thought it would be great to turn the tables around and interview Dan Porter here on the Blazing Minds blog, now if only I could get one with Mark Pike as well ;) ;)

Dan kindly agreed to have an interview, with added mug shots, for the Blazing Minds blog and I’m so glad he agreed as you’ll see from the interview Dan is a scream and a really nice guy as it happens

So please enjoy the interview with Dan Porter.

Blazing Minds Interviews Dan Porter From Point FM And Teen FM

Karen:  Hi Dan, tell us a little about yourself.

Dan: Hi, I’m Dan… obviously. That’s not a very good way to start, I’ll  start again. I am 20 years old, born in Walsall and moved to Rhyl 7 -  8 years ago, and present on a local radio station for North Wales called Point FM also back in 2007 I founded an internet radio station  Teen FM. My passion has always lay within radio, I have worked in amusement arcades, cafes & shops and disliked every single one!

I am usually the one who gets bullied…. (aww), in the past year I  have been thrown in the deep end of a swimming pool live on radio, had  my legs waxed twice… live on radio and also shuffled in front of  a lot amount of people, youtube it, its amazing!.

Karen: Tell us about your Record Breaking achievement?

It usually happens that when I get a day off from work we get nothing but rain, but today was different, it has been lovely and sunny, the perfect day off!

So I made the most of it and headed up to Llandudno for some time in the sunshine, stopping off in BHS (British Home Store) for a cappuccino before heading into the town to join with the rest of what seemed to be the retired community pottering around the streets.

It’s been a funny old day today with the weather, at first it looked like rain, then it warmed up, then cooled down again with a few spits of rain, but overall it’s been warm!

So today we decided to take the dogs for a walk and go up to Tir Prince Raceway, where on a Sunday there is a boot sale, what can I say gets us out the house and gives us a bit of fresh air ;)

It doesn’t take long to get there as we only live a short distance away and to get to the Raceway we have to go through the lovely park in Towyn. Now it’s not very often we visit the boot sale, it must be a few years since we last went as we usually prefer to go somewhere further afield.

A Country Walk

But today we decided to give it a go and my friend @quiffylaa31 came by, so we all went together. OK it’s a boot sale and you don’t expect much and believe me there wasn’t much, it was full of bewildered holiday makers looking for something cheap to buy to take back to relatives to say where they have been for their holiday!

Mind you it did give me an excuse to try out FourSquare, yet again, on my basic phone using their mobile website and it worked quite well.

So it was a lovely walk and nice to have a bit of fresh air, but I wouldn’t say that the Boot Sale was anything to boast about, but when are Boot Sales anything to really scream and shout about ;)

Ever popular than ever I’m proud to bring you another in my series of “Who’s the Band” and this week I bring you an interview with a local band in my area “Sunrise Sunset”, so I’m going to stop rambling on and get on with the interview..

Q: So how did you come upon the name of your band? Is it the first name you chose?

A: I used “Sunrise Sunset” as a username for a social networking website a few years previous to writing songs. It seemed to catch on as an alter ego to me so I thought I’d use it for my stage name. Read the rest of this entry »

Those of you who have been following my Tweets lately will of noticed that I have made several over the last few days about the weather and how gorgeous it has been.

And for that haven’t been following my tweets, why not!….

Anyway over the last few days here on the lovely North Wales coast we have had some absolutely gorgeous weather, on Wednesday our back garden hit around 28°c (82.4°f) and yesterday we hit around 30°c (86°f) in the back garden and the conservatory was even hotter, with the hottest been an unbearable 39°c (102.2°f). Who needs to go on holiday when the weather is this good ;)

Thursday night was great later as we had an amazing BBQ, yes another one, and a quantity of chilled wine to wash the burgers, sausages, kebabs etc down, now I’m just hoping that the weekend has the same sort of weather, a few showers thrown in for a few minutes would be great to chill everywhere down.

So here’s to possibly and hopefully the best summer in years PARTAY!!!!!

Unusually for a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK we have had a gorgeous day, the weather has behaved itself very well and we peaked at 24°c in the back garden, awesome.

It’s been a day of doing nothing and been able to have dinner in the garden with a nice chilled glass if wine is the perfect end to a perfect day.

I’m just hoping that tomorrow will bless us with another gorgeous day here on the North Wales coast, so here’s hoping ;)

Country WalkI’ve been out for a lovely walk today with my mum and two little dogs, the weather wasn’t too bad so we thought we would take them on a nice long walk at the back of the Tir Prince raceway.

As you can see by the picture this is the nice little walk that we took, it’s look nice and clean and calming.

A very relaxing walk with the two dogs watching them playing around and having fun.

But I was quite upset in how people treat the countryside around them, amongst a closer look there were bottles, old cans of lager and to my utter show a tent that someone had decided to just throw away in the hedge!

Old TentCome on people what is wrong with you, can’t you just take your rubbish home with you or even recycle your old stuff.

It really ticks me off when people have no care for their surroundings or the environment and the animals in, so please take your rubbish home!!!!

On a nicer note, on the walk we met a man looking for owls to photograph and it turns out he’s one of our local artists, his name was Martin Jones and you can find some of his artwork and photographs on his website called Annzart, so please find the time to visit his website.
