It seems to be a trend at the moment in Hollywood that they are remaking, or as they like to call it reimagining, films of which some shouldn’t be touched either because they were that bad in the first place and have now got a cult status or they think they can make them better.

Amongst the latest films to fall victim of this Hollywood trend are The Neverending Story and Total Recall, ok so some will disagree with me on this one, but The Neverending Story is a classic with it’s puppetry, yes I know there is a quite a bit missing from the original book, but is that any excuse to remake it, also Total Recall, probably and I say this loosely, Arnie’s best film…

But it doesn’t stop there, oh no, in there money making wisdom announcements have been made for a “reworking” of The Karate Kid staring Jackie Chan, Arthur with Russel Brand and Romancing the Stone.

I could go on, but I think it would be fun for my readers to comment with films tat they have heard are to be ripped off, sorry remade, err no reimagined!!!

This is my call to the Hollywood writers to come out with an original film, yes I know it may be hard to do as most of the original movie well is drying up, but surely someone can come up with something fresh and not re-pulped…

Brandon Lee as The CrowI don’t usually post twice a day, but this really got my goat, so I had to vent my thoughts.

Now I really can’t believe what is wrong with Hollywood at the moment, they seem to be going through a phase of remaking virtually every film they can think of and now they have decided to remake The Crow!

It is supposed to be directed by Stephen Norrington who directed The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I personally think and I hope I’m right in think that fans of The Crow and Brandon Lee will agree with me that Alex Proyas’ version of the movie is the best and shouldn’t be defiled!

What the hell is wrong with them, they should leave The Crow as it is, bo remakes, no re-cuts, nothing. The Crow should be left as a homage to Brandon Lee, the film sees Brandon at his best and should be left in his honour, I mean it was bad enough that the film spawned three sequels and a dyer series.

Come on Hollywood, get your act together and come up with something original and no, I don’t mean a re-working of The Crow it perfect as is.
