BloggerLuv is Spreading Like Wildfire!

There I was surfing the net as I do and I decided to do my daily visit to my favourite blogging community, BloggerLuv and came across a post from John titled “Pick your poison” so I thought I might as well re-vamp this post that I originally posted back in September 2010

Those of you who read my blog often will have seen a post I’ve made in the past about a blogger community website called BloggerLuv, since then the site has gone from strength to strength.

One of the reasons for this is the way that fellow bloggers use the site and how friendly, and helpful, they all are on BloggerLuv. If you are stuck for some help with your blogging or even having trouble with some coding on your blog, there is always someone who is willing to help you out.

I on many occasions have taken the opportunity to ask for some help from my fellow bloggers and they always come through with the likes of @Ileane, @jsinkeywest, @growmap and @simplehomeorg to name a few giving good friendly and much-needed advise and blogging tips n tricks.

You can also link up with FaceBook and even Twitter to post out status updates from BloggerLuv:

And as you can see I added a hash tag, I do occasionally This also helps promote the blogging community out to the twittersphere, I do the same with my blog and add #BlazingMinds, little tip there for you

One of the other advantages of being a member of the BloggerLuv Community is the ability to post your links to your blog and increase your readers, it’s worked for me, with a bit of traffic now coming from the website and some new blog commentators stopping by and leaving their pennies worth.

There is so much more you can do on BloggerLuv, but probably the best way to meet all these wonderful bloggers is to stop by and see for yourself, stop for a while and check out what’s going on at the forums, groups and more.

Since becoming a member of BloggerLuv and writing this post originally back in September 2010, my blogging friendships as rocketed, I now know loads of helpful bloggers who are always willing to help me out if I need any help. Not only can I chat with other bloggers I can also post what ever I like in the form of a blog post, great for getting things off my chest

How To Search For Twitter Users by Location, Bio and Tweets

There are many ways of finding Tweeters that may be tweeting near where you live or even tweeting about certain things that you may be tweeting about as well, but one of the easiest ways for me is by using the website LocaFollow.

With sites such as Refollow having some problems with Twitter, there comes a time when you may need to use another Twitter Tool to find people to follow and this website certainly has a good choice of options, there is NO mass follow, you must click each tweeter one at a time, but it’s a small price to pay at the end of the day.

By simply entering your required info in one of the four search boxes or even combining any or all of them to tweak your search results, you can find fellow tweeters that you may be interested in following.

For example if you entered “Blogger” into the bio box, you could search for fellow bloggers and follow those that you are interested in.

The same goes for the other options such as location, name and tweets. You also get a good bit of information about the Tweeter that you may want to follow

Having these stats displayed for each tweeters, can help your decide if you want to follow them stats include their bio, followers, following, number of tweets and how long they have been on Twitter.

Now LocaFollow will not get you thousands of followers, but, it will allow you to find fellow Tweeters that are tweeting in your niche and hopefully over time help improve you Twitter influence among your Twitter followers.

So if you are looking for a Twitter tool that will, possibly, improve your Twitter influence then give LocaFollow a try.

Free Traffic For Brand New Blog

Starting a blog is easy this day, as a beginner may be you like to used free domain. I assume you don’t have trouble at all to sign up your new account on free blogging service. The next step is creating contents, because the main activities of blogging is create contents.

I’m sure you need others to visit and read your blog especially if you are a productive writer. You need someone to give feedback or asking you about your article or start a discussion on your comment box. I can say that you need visitors or traffic to your brand new blog.

I saw few blogs with great contents but they didn’t go to the surface. This is about strategies for a blog. If you are really a beginner on blogging, you don’t have to be afraid that no one will take a look your blog. The right promotion and marketing your blog, sure people will come to visit your blog. If you are a productive writer, so you have to promote your works, tell the world about your works.

There’s a few easy ways to promote your blog and start getting traffic to your brand new blog.

Join Blogger Community. Yes, its a must for new blogger. Why blogger community? Because you can find other blogger like you, from the expert until beginner like you. Create profile and don’t forget to put your avatar on your profile. The goal is to get connect with other blogger.

Start Leaving Comments. This is what I did when I started my blogging journey, and I’m still do leaving comments until today. After you find other blogger on your new community, try to visit as many as blog you can for one day, and left a nice comment but do not spamming. Nice and useful comment will attract the blog owner to visit your blog.

Social Network. Using your network to promote your new blog, off line and online social network. Try to put your blog url on your business card, tell your family and friends that you build a new blog. Using Facebook and Twitter to promote your blog. Don’t forget to put your url on your profile.

I’m sure your blog starting get more visitors with these activities. Leaving Comment is my favorite promotion tool to get more traffic. Additional tips, try to leave comment on the same niche blog and high PR blog.

Another touch which I do like is the One-touch Social Network Message Key for easy use of Mobile Blogging (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc.) this will make it so much easier to hop on to my social networks and start Twitting etc, far easier than the phone I have at the moment!. Also Mobile Media which will allow me to have top-notch text, picture, video, and voice messaging, including Visual Voicemail.

Now I am seriously looking into getting one these phones and it does indeed sound like it would be a great phone to use and would certainly make my Twitting and blogging that little bit more easier when I’m on the move.

Avoiding Twitter Phishing Scams in Direct Messages

As you get ever popular on Twitter and you use it more and more, you may notice that you get a lot of DMs (Direct Messages) from other users and a lot of these have links included, though some of these are genuine, other are blatant phishing scams to get your information.

One of these includes the text “Is this you on here?” and once you click this you are taken to the login page of Twitter, this is just a cunning way of stealing your log in details to take over your account, so to put it simply DON’T CLICK IT!

If you have been tricked in to giving your username and password, then change it straight away on the Twitter setting in your profile.

I’ve recently been recieving DMs with regards to “iq scores“, now I’m not sure if these are phishing scams, but I’m not clicking them, if you have found you are sending these DMs then change your password.

So a couple of simple rules to follow:

Never provide your Twitter username or password to any website that looks suspicious.

If you are not sure about a link in a DM then don’t click it.

If the DM is from someone you know, tweet them asking them if they sent it, if they didn’t tell them to change their password.

There you go a few simple rules that should hopefully keep you safer from the Twitter phishing scams..

Do you Tweet, Digg etc posts on blogs you enjoy reading?

So you’ve just read a blog post and you think to yourself, wow that was interesting or maybe it was funny or you would just like to tell your friends what you have read.

But do you take advantage of the buttons that the majority of blogs, including this one, have at the bottom of the blog posts?

Most would probably say no, which is a real shame as clicking on these buttons or links helps a blogger get their post out to more people by you, the reader, simply ReTweeting, Digging or posting the information out on the many social networks that are out there!

So if you are reading a blog post and see links to social networks that you belong to then take the time to click on them and spread the word, you would be surprised how this help bloggers out.

I visit a few blogs and do ReTweet and Digg posts that I enjoy reading, most of the time if you Tweet a post with the ReTweet buttons on a blog post you will get a tweet back for the blogger saying thank you for the RT, which will in turn add to your conversation for your tweets.

Also by submitting posts to social networks will usually help you out by showing others what you enjoy reading etc and this will usually build up your followings on the social networks such as Twitter.

So remember, if there are social networks buttons or links of a blog post, click them and spread the love for the blogs you are reading

Is twitter free on Orange dolphin?

The title of this post is a question that I have seen several times in my blogs stats, so I thought I would take the opportunity to shine a bit of light on those, that like myself, are on the Orange network.

So the simple answer to the question “Is twitter free on orange dolphin” is NO, but there is a fantastic way around it and I use it myself to tweet with my orange phone that is now on the dolphin tariff.

So how can it be done?

For starters you will need to join Ping.fm which is a free site that enables you to update all your social networks, including Twitter, in one go..

From here you will be able to add all the social networks that you belong to and most importantly you will be able to set up your phone to SMS direct to Ping.fm, then post your text to the social networks of your choice.

Now the great thing about this is that due to the number that you send your messages to been a UK number you will not get charged for your text when you are on the Orange Dolphin tariff.

So if you do a lot of tweeting via your mobile phone the best way is to set your Orange phone on the dolphin tariff, join Ping.fm and then let loose

Some Handy Twitter Websites (Twitter Tools)!

If you are starting out using Twitter then you may be wondering what all the fuss is about, but once you get going on it, it can be quite addictive, so to help you have a bit more fun with Twitter here’s a small collection of sites or Twitter Tools that you may like.

If you are looking for new friends then Mr.Tweet is a great little site that will act as your own personal networking assistant with Twitter. All you have to do is follow Mr.Tweet and then you’ll recieve a DM (Direct Message) suggestions and more on good Twitters to follow. This is one of my favourite Twitter Tools and it’s just so easy to use.

For organising your new followers etc then try out Tweepler. With Tweepler you can allocate Tweeps in to two buckets, those to follow and those to ignore, very simple, but effective, even has a more option to find out more about the Tweep.

Tweetlater is a site that some people use and rave about, yet some don’t like it. Tweetlater not only has the options to tweet at a future date, but also allows you to choose from options such as autofollow new followers, autounfollow those that unfollow you and also the option to vet new followers.

A fun site to use is Twitter Grader, this site takes you Twitter name and grades your Twitter profale with info such as overall rank, followers, following and updates, it will also show you a tweet cloud and recommend other users to you.

And finally a site which I find very useful is Twitter Counter, this is a great site, not only does it give you information on how many followers you have, predicts how many you may have the next day, it even show how many follow and unfollowed you. Best of all you have the option of adding a Twitter Counteer to your own website to show everyone how many followers you have

Are we all getting addicted to the Social Networks!

Now probably like me your are listed on sites such as MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc, but can these site become a bit of an addiction?

Speaking from experience I have become a bit of Twitter addict over the last few months and twitting when I’m out and about and even twitting my posts from this blog.

My uses of Facebook and Myspace has dwindled over the last twelve months or so, but I still use MySpace as a heavy promoting vehicle for the music of Remergence.

But is there such a thing of belonging to too many of the social network sites, I myself have lost count on how many I actually belong to and if it was not for sites such as ping.fm I would probably have problems trying to update them all.

So what do you think? Are you addicted to letting people know that you’ve just had a biscuit on the train home? Or do you think belong to too many social network site? Or maybe you don’t belong to enough?

Using Twitter with your Blogs

Now I can quite honestly say that I have several Twitter accounts, one for each of my blogs and Twitter does have it’s uses when blogging away.

Firstly using a wordpress blog allows me to use plugins for Twitter which will “tweet” each time I post on my blog this is great for those who follow my twitter “Blazing Minds” as it allows them to see what I’m posting about as well as follow other things I may be doing.

Twitter is a vital step on the blog promotion ladder as it will distribute you posts to a larger audience as time go by, so my recommendation to everyone is that if you have a blog, specially a wordpress blog, then get a Twitter plugin and start Twittering

Using Ping.fm to promote your website!

Now I’ve been using ping.fm for quite a while now since it was in it’s beta stage, but now it has come out of beta and is live.

First of all let me tell you what ping.fm actually does, once you join ping.fm you can add your social network websites such as Plurk, Bebo, Twitter, Myspace and many more. Adding this will enable you to update your statuses on these and other sites in one go, also you can create posts for micro-blogs and standard blog entries, enabling you to spend less time updating the many social sites that you may belong to.

So how do you promote your website using ping.fm?
Simple really when you update your website/blog make sure you use ping.fm to update your social networks this will add links to your website from your social networks and as most have a fair amount of friends on their social networks anyway, this will promote you site to them as well as people who may be browsing the networks, sending you new readers/visitors to your site.
