I thought I’d follow up on my previous post about TV Kitchens with one about the actual chefs themselves…hope you enjoy it!
I love cooking programmes, I always have. I started getting interested in cooking when I was 14 and would try and cook anything I liked the look of. But I’ve never been fond of recipes, they’re so fussy with exact measures and times and having to stop in the middle of everything to go back and read the damned thing every 5 minutes… eek! So began my love affair with cookery shows. I adore watching someone cook and not only knowing what they put in it but also to get a sense of the food by watching it being made and eaten. I have never felt the need to sit there with pen and paper to write down the recipe or look it up online. In fact I prefer to go back to the kitchen and make my own version of it. These days there are so many cooking programmes and it’s all about who’s the funniest/sexiest or most glamorous or has the fanciest recipes and gadgets. Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining, I watch most of them but I do enjoy some more than others. Here is my 3 all time favourite TV chefs and why I love them. Want to find out more, then click here

Already being a Buffy fan I was excited to hear that Joss Whedon was coming out with a new series – and boy did he deliver with Dollhouse. I was shocked and appalled to hear that it didn’t have very good ratings; I guess people have no taste or maybe it was just too clever for their tiny little brains! And I guess it doesn’t help that that greedy arsehole Rupert Murdoch will cancel any show unless it’s making him a 400% profit. I know I know I sound all bitter but it just makes my blood boil that a programme like frickin Big Brother continues to pollute the airways for a decade and decent stuff get scrapped after 2 seasons! Anyway Dollhouse is one of the most imaginative and intelligent things I’ve seen in a long time and it was really funny, with great story lines and superb acting. Here are my top 5 favourite Dollhouse moments:

Although I don’t consider myself a geek in general I’m afraid I have to admit I’m a bit of a Buffy geek… Ok a big Buffy Geek…. Oh hell I’ve watched every episode at least 3 times. Once I watched the whole of season 5 in one go, literally didn’t move from in front of the TV unless for toilet breaks and to get food. But who can blame me? It is the best season after all. It is really hard to choose my top 5 favourite episodes and I’m sure I will change my mind as soon as I’ve done it but what the hell I’ll give it a go.
Spoiler alert: I’m not really sure how to write about my fave episodes without giving away what happens. If you haven’t watched these yet (and if you haven’t what planet have you been living on for the past 13 years?!) then be aware that I’m giving away some serious (and some not so serious) storylines!
