First let me introduce you to Tweetdeck

If you are a blogger you properly also have a Twitter account where you promote yourself or maybe even multiple accounts. After a while it can be a lot of work to keep up with those accounts and tweets and the default www.twitter.com solution does not add much support for multiple accounts and a lot more than that. That is where Tweet Deck comes to the rescue. It is a little application you install on your PC. When it is installed you can configure multiple Twitter accounts and configure different kind of views for your twitter stream.

Get the full picture with Tweetdeck

On the picture below you can see I have configured 3 columns in my Tweetdeck.
The first one is called All Friends and simply just shows tweet from all people I follow. The second column is showing tweets only from bloggers that are on my customized list called “Favorites-Bloggers”.

This is a great way to see what the people I admire the most are tweeting and still have the possibility to follow all the people I follow in the left column. The last column I have configured is “Mentions”. This column shows every time someone has mentioned my Tweetname in a tweet. I is the same you can see on your normal twitter account but here you can see it without moving away from your normal twitter stream.

Support for other social networks

Not only does Tweetdeck support multiple Twitter accounts it does also support other social networks. It makes it possible to add e.g. your Facebook account to Tweetdeck as well.

Tweetdeck for smartphones

Tweetdeck is also available for iPhone and Android smartphone, but it is not a part of this review. Tweetdeck is also available as an extension for the Google Chrome browser I you prefer that.

Additional configuration:

Another great thing about Tweetdeck is that it gives you some extra configuration options. Here are my 3 favorite tweaks for Tweetdeck:

Show the numbers of followers on all users below their picture.

Use Autocomplete for usernames when you write a tweet.

Play an alert sound notification when someone mentions you in a tweet.

All the above is available under settings and can add extra value to your TweetDeck experience.

That was all for me today. Now I would like to activate your guys a bit. Let me hear how you Tweet? Do you use Tweetdeck or another program for your Tweets? If you have not yet tried TweetDeck you should go ahead and download it.

After careful deliberation and the fact that Blazing Minds does seem to be getting even more popular these days, I decided to start a Twitter account for the Guest Posts here on my blog and for the blogs that the Guest Posters run themselves.

This new Twitter account is @BMGuestPosters I’ve already started adding the feeds of the Guest Bloggers here on Blazing Minds and have started following them as well, hopefully they will all return the favour and follow back, yes I know some of you have already, cheers

So What’s This Account All About Then?

Well as I mentioned above, the Tweets will be the Guest Posts that are made on this blog, so each time a Guest Post has gone live @BMGuestPosters will tweet about it, it will also be reading the Guest Posters blogs and any new posts from them will also be tweeted out on the Twitter account.

This will not only promote the posts here on Blazing Minds, but will also promote their blogs to more readers, just my way of saying thank you

Now before you all start shouting “automated account”, I have added it to my TweetDeck so that if any questions or replies are made to the account and I am online at the time, I will be able to see them and reply to them.

So please follow @BMGuestPosters and remember everyone that follows IS followed back

So it’s been just over a year since I grabbed my new Twitter name of @BlazingMinds and boy has the time flown!

I’ve now had my Twitter since the 15th February and it’s been a brilliant first year on Twitter, yes there has been times when I thought my follower count wasn’t even going to make it past the 2,000 mark, but now, after promoting my blog posts, following some brilliant Tweeters and becoming more accustomed to using my Twitter, I’ve broken the 10,000 mark.

Reading loads of Twitter Tips across the internet has been interesting, with some people have totally different ideas to getting followers than others, with some saying following everyone back while some say only follow those that you find of interest or those that are in your own niche!

As most of you know who follow me on Twitter, I don’t really have a set niche, I blog and Tweet about whatever the hell I want to and over 10,000 followers can’t be a bad start to my second year of tweeting

I can quite honestly say that since using Twitter I have met a lot of fellow bloggers and they in turn have helped me improve my blogging as well as joining me here on my blog by becoming Guest Bloggers and bringing their wisdom and words to you the reader of Blazing Minds.

I’ve also discovered many Twitter websites, some good, some bad and some no longer with us. Twitter platforms for tweeting, such as TweetDeck and HootSuite. Recently I started tweeting with my BlackBerry, which adds a whole new outlook on the Twittersphere, tweeting photos of interesting places and the strange

So the future is looking bright and I’m hoping that if I keep going the way I’m going with Twitter and my blog, I’ll meet even more great people who enjoy my blog and Tweets, RT’s are always most welcome

I’m a big fan of TweetDeck and have used it for a while now since I started using Twitter, so it was great to see that TweetDeck is now available as a Google Chrome Extension.

The Chrome Extension is very similar to the TweetDeck desktop software, so it’s easy to grasp, specially when you are used to the using it on your desktop, though there are some noticeable differences, these include the option for Blended Columns, this is where all your conversations etc are all in one column, it can be quite daunting at times, but still very nice. Take a look at the video for more info

Click here to view the embedded video.

I have personally found this new Chrome TweetDeck very useful, it certainly save me booting up TweetDeck on my desktop and having it in a Chrome Tab is great for me to just click on it and it there, I’m not too sure if it ever replace the desktop version of TweetDeck, but it will certainly give it a run for its money.

Image via CrunchBase

Just some of the Features of the New Chrome TweetDeck

Blended columns
Follow your friends and your fans all over the web, with the blended Home and Me columns.

Hit the Deck running
Just one button to import all your columns and accounts from the TweetDeck Desktop.

Conversation view
Brand new to tweeters, check conversation and reply with context in a single detail view.

Blended inbox
A blended column to deliver all your private communications into one social inbox.

New look and feel
We’ve updated the interface with a new design, new icons, and inline photo previews.

Seemless auto complete
New auto-completion of names in the compose window means you can quickly find friends.

New flexible browsing
The new side panel allows you to quickly browse, preview, and add new columns.

Organize and Update Facebook
The new ‘more’ drawer in the compose window helps you organize lots of accounts.

A bright future
Not just a newer, sleeker version of Desktop TweetDeck. We are going much further.

So if like me you are a keen user of Google Chrome then why not check out Chrome TweetDeck at Chrome Web Store and yes it is FREE

It’s quite amazing how fast the weeks go by these days and this week round-up has a slight change in the top referring search terms as there seems to be a movement towards searching for [intlink id="565" type="category"]Blogging Tips[/intlink] and since starting my [intlink id="727" type="category"]Photo A Day[/intlink] project there has also been a flurry of people searching for digital photography, so it seems that this is helping my blog along..

There also seems to be a search engine on the top 5 that I haven’t seen before, though it has on hit the site once, it’s a welcome change.

Those of you that have read my blog over the past few months will of notice I have done a few [intlink id="565" type="category"]Blogging Tips[/intlink] as well as a collection of [intlink id="109" type="category"]Twitter Tips[/intlink] so I thought It was about time that I mentioned a way of helping others in a tip to seeing your new followers and what do with them via the TweetDeck platform.

TweetDeck is your personal browser for staying in touch with what’s happening now, connecting you with your contacts across Twitter, Facebook and more.

Not only can you have a collection of columns that you can show your groups/lists, direct messages, search queries, replies etc, but you can also add a column for new Twitter Follows and this is what can be very useful for sorting out your new Twitter Follows..

So for starters you will need to click the Add column button this will open up the screen for adding new columns to your TweetDeck, then you need to click the “core” button to give you a list of Twitter options.

What you then need to do is make sure you are using the correct Twitter username, if you have multiple accounts, then select the “[intlink id="twitter-followers" type="post"]New Followers[/intlink]” option.

This will now open a new column at the end of your other columns on TweetDeck and will now list new followers of your chosen Twitter account, now you can use this to column to choose who you want to follow back, unfollow, block and even add to lists or groups.

So how can you use this column to follow back your Twitter Followers?

It’s quite simple really under each new follower there are several links you can link on, first is the users Twitter profile link, next is [+] this is for adding the Tweeter to one or more of your groups and/or lists, next is “block” this will block the Tweeter and finally “follow” or “unfollow” if you are already following them.

So when you get new followers you can decide from Tweetdeck whether you want to follow them back or unfollow them, also hovering over the Tweeters profile picture will allow your to mention them in a tweet, DM them, block or block and report spam to Twitter.

I do find this an extremely useful column to have running on Tweetdeck not only does it let me know who is following me, but I can decide there and then from Tweetdeck if I want to follow them back or not, which gives me an instant control over those that are following me while I am using Tweetdeck and as I have the program running while my computer is on, it’s always giving me the option to do what I want.

So there you have it, a simple way using a great Twitter Tool to help you organize your Twitter Followers, it’s easy to do and if you are using TweetDeck it already for you to add
