No related posts.]]> Surfing around the internet the other day I came across a website called twiends.com a Twitter Tool that helps you increase your Twitter followers, but before I carry on, I must mention that this is not an automated program and you must take responsibility in following and unfollowing in a non aggressive way as you can be banned from Twiends and worse of all from Twitter.

Twiends is simple to use, you simple sign up with your Twitter and then you are on your way, you will get some bonus free credits (more on them later) for joining so those should help you on your way, you can earn credits by following tweeters or you can pay for a set amount of credits for a low price.

A good feature about Twiends is you can set your location and your interests, this will then allow you to see who has the same interests or location as yourself, so you can choose who you want to follow and the same goes for those following you.

Twiends - Get twitter followers, facebook fans and website visitors!Now the only problem I have seen with this, and this usually the same with most Twitter Tools, is the spammers, they are far and few between, but you will still get those “adult” twitters following you, you know the ones I mean ;) So keep an eye on who is following you, better safe than sorry. Unless you don’t care and just want the numbers.

When I joined I opted to also subscribe to the RSS feed which gave me some bonus free credits, I also opted to try the 200 credits and VIP status for $5.95, as a test to see how it works, so in a months time, I’ll post again with a round up of my experience with Twiends

Since I originally wrote this post about Twiends have now have several more options, these include adding your FaceBook pages to get more likes and adding your website to gain some extra hits. Another point to make, is that the option to “Twiend” every one on one page has now gone and you must select each Twiend one at a time, I dare say this is to do with Twitters guidelines on mass following Tweeters.

Twiends has also gone through a re-design with the site, looking much fresher and more professional than it previous incarnation ;)

No related posts.]]> There comes a time when those that actually never take the time to change the default image on Twitter have to go, the majority of the time these tweeters are spammers and from time to time you may want to unfollow them on Twitter if you have followed them using something like SocialOomph, but how can you do it?

Well this is how…..

I use a website called Refollow, now don’t be fooled by the name it has so many following and unfollowing options that you may not need anything else;)

Refollow - Twitter Organizer

Once you have logged in to Refollow by using Twitter OAuth you will have a selection of options you can make, by ticking the boxes you require, such as “Not Following”, “Never Followed”, “Not Following Me” etc.

For the purpose of this post, I’m going to show you how to unfollow on Twitter those that have no picture, meaning they still have the default Twitter logo.

So tick – “I’m Following” and “Without Picture” now the screen will display a section of Twitter with default images, if not go into the “Show Me” section and click both the mores, then Update View.

You can then select them to unfollow on Twitter, now remember to be cautious when unfollowing as you don’t want to get banned from Twitter, I usually find that unfollowing a page, 100 Twitters, in a 24 hours period is probably your best bet.

Tweaking the different boxes will give you different results, you could also unfollow those that haven’t tweeted in several days, or those that have not followed you back, it’s entirely up to you ;)

You know the ones, a plane, heart, star sign etc. Well there are several ways of adding these to your tweets when your on Twitter, but there is a great Chrome Extension which will give you a brilliant way of adding these Twitter Symbols when you are Tweeting.

Twitter Symbols will add an extra button next to the Tweet button on the Twitter website and will open an on-screen box allowing you to click on a Twitter Symbol to add to your tweet.

So all you have to do is click on the button and the selection box will open up, then you can simply add what you want to make your tweet a little different.

One thing I have noticed when using these Twitter Symbols though, is not all of them will be displayed on Tweetdeck, even with the option for International font/Twitterkey selected in Tweetdecks setting, but they do seem to work on Twitter itself ;)

So by using the Twitter Symbols you can tweet a custom tweet like I have below:

Tweetons Get People To Tweet About Your BusinessOnce you log in to Tweetons via Twitter OAuth you will be able to set up your campaigns which once done are all automated, you can then just sit back and wait for the word to be spread about your business.

There are two type of campaigns available sweepstakes and instant.

Sweepstakes

These are ideal if you are running a competition via Twitter and would like to spread the word out, with this option when your chosen tweet is found by Tweetons the Tweeters goes into the running for the prize, you have several options to configure such as end date of the sweepstakes as well as some optional settings such as only a follower can win the competition.

This is an ideal way of getting the word out, you could use a HashTag in the tweet to promote you business via the competition.

Instant Reward

This is a handy option for getting the word out about your business to loads more tweeters, such as when someone ReTweets one of your tweets, you can thank them with a reply on Twitter, add your HashTag or web address and this will help promote you out to more possible followers and visitors to your website.

Again there are settings as with the Sweepstakes, my recommendation would be not to tweet everyone that ReTweets you, edit the optional settings so that you only RT those with over a set amount of followers of your choice, maybe 3,000 upwards, that way you’re not going to be spamming everyone on Twitter ;)

I’ve experimented with Tweetons and from the small stats that I have tested it on it have been quite interesting as you can see from them below

So handy at reaching out to other Tweeters and the possibility of spreading the word, ok they aren’t all going to falling over themselves to follower or visit, but every little helps in promoting your business out to the masses of Twitter users.

No related posts.]]> This is a question that I have been asked before by loads of my friends and I thought I would write a short post on my tips for your mass of DMs or Direct Messages that you may have building up on your Twitter profile.

First of all your DMs shouldn’t really give you any cause for concern, even though they may be a bit of a pain to have loads, they are generally not a problem, but, if you do want to get rid of them, there is sadly no option on Twitter to delete multiple DMs, so how do you do it?

Some time ago you used to be able to use a program called DM Whacker, but sadly this no longer works on twitter, so my advice would be to use SocialOomph (formally TweetLater), besides been able to do stacks of other things, you can also “purge” your list of DMs from Twitter.

Remove Twitter Direct Messages with SocialOomph

You have a choice of all DMs, older than 7 days and older than 30 days, so you can keep some that you may deem important. Yes it’s that simple.

But remember once your DMs are deleted, that’s it, you will not be able to get them back, they are gone for over, so be careful you don’t delete messages that you want to keep ;)

One way of doing this is with a website called TwitChuck.

TwitChuck Remove Twitter Spammers

It’s easy to use TwitChuck, just log in with your Twitter account via Twitter Oauth and then your off, simply select SpamChuck and TwitChuck will give you the option of checking your Friends, Followers or Everyone. So just select which one you want and click on it.

SpamChuck will then display possible Twitter Spammers and display them for you, then it’s up to you if your block them all or de-select those that you would like to keep.

There is also an option to do a single search for a Twitter User, by simply entering the Twitter name, you then get a screen with some information on it, including a score for the Tweeter. As far as I can see the number changes colour as it’s get closer to been a spammer, so Blue is ok, but RED is possibly a spammer, so check them out before you block them ;)

So there you go another Twitter Tool for you to organize you tweeters with, but as will all Twitter Tools use it wisely and do not abuse the system as this may cause twitter to think that you are being very naughty and suspend you..

No related posts.]]> It’s was a strange day the other day with Twitter, there I was happily tweeting away on my Twitter @BlazingMinds with my trusty Tweetdeck, when I got a read warning message about the Twitter API not working!

“Oh well, nothing to worry about” I thought, but it kept happening more and more, so I decided to visit the Status website for Twitter and find out what was going on…

It seemed to be the Twitter was suffering from “Site availability issues” which all boils down to one particular thing that we have been seeing on the Twitter website… The Fail Whale and Twitter Over Capacity!

Since the first mention of the problem, twitter have been updating their status and some Twitters may have even noticed a few options disappearing from the [intlink id="109" type="category"]Twitter website[/intlink] such as Twitter Search, hovercards, web sidebar data (trends, friends counts, etc) Also some tweets have been delayed a tad, but Twitter do promise they will be delivered.

So have you had any problems with Twitter today, did your Twitter client, TweetDeck or Hootsuite, for example have issues?

And most of all are you really bothered or do you just take the problems with a pinch of salt? ;)

[UPDATE] It seems that Twitter i having problems again today 13th June, with even more showing of the Fail Whale page, according to the Twitter Status website “We are experiencing site-wide availability issues due to a network service interruption. We’re currently working to address these issues. We’ll update with more information as it is available.” So I’m afraid we’ll all have to just suffer these outrages, until Twitter can sort it all out, I wonder if it has anything to do with the World Cup! Hmmmm

[UPDATE #2] More problems today 15 June, as tweets vanish from the cached timelines and tweeting is responded to with an internal server error! But luckily this problem has been resolved …

]]> Yes I have been a busy little bee lately, not only have I tweeked the blog to show a handy little box when you hover over a twitter name in the comments section ;) But, I have also started a Twibbon for those that like the blog so much they can show their support.

So how does this Twibbon work?

Well most of you have probably already seen a Twibbon in action, once you show your support a little “Twibbon” will appear on your Twitter avatar, in the case of Blazing Minds it’s a small version of the Blazing Minds Twitter avatar, it’s really that simple.

No related posts.]]> Now you’ve probably seen titles like this on blogs before, but I’m not kidding, since joining the website MyLikes and using it to show followers what I like as well as some sponsored tweets, the website has paid for my Web Hosting for the last few months, which is brilliant.

If you haven’t heard of MyLikes then let me tell you what it is….

MyLikes

Mylikes is an advertising platform that allows Twitters to tweet their likes, this can be anything from a website through to everyday items, for example I have “MyLiked” [intlink id="review-skechers-shape-ups-walking-on-air" type="post"]Skechers[/intlink], Avatar, [intlink id="ez-combs-simply-effective-hairstyles" type="post"]EZ Combs[/intlink] and loads more. Not only can you select anything that you want, you can also “MyLike” sponsored tweet and posts, which are simple to do and earn you a little money for your efforts.

I don’t tweet too many sponsored tweets with MyLikes but those that I have done, have earned me enough each month to cover my hosting at EvoHosting. Each sponsored tweet you make is a CPC tweet, so to earn from these you have to have clicks, obviously the more people that follow you and the more that click on the link or ReTweet it for others to click, will earn you more.

Since using MyLikes I’ve seen the lowest CPC as $0.05 and the highest at $0.53 and as I’ve mentioned before, just by using MyLikes I’ve paid for the hosting of this blog and for the Remergence website, so it’s helping me out.

MyLikes is a great little earner and is ideal for twitters everywhere, but remember as with most advertising sites you use, don’t over do it, don’t tweet ads too much as this really puts off your followers, try to limit it to at least one a day, with MyLikes they will only allow you to post one sponsored tweet every 24 hours, so you can’ over do it, but you are using other sponsored tweet sites as well, then just be careful.

No related posts.]]> Friday seems to come round quicker everyweek and I, like so many others, like to give my support to those that have been kind enough to me over the week by ReTweeting my posts etc, and it can be quite daunting sorting out a list of those that have. and then working out which of the Twitters have retweeted the most or mentioned you the most times over that week and if you are very popular on twitter it can be even more of a task .

So while searching the net I came across a handy [intlink id="retweet-rt-twitter" type="post"]Twitter Tool[/intlink] called FollowFriday Helper…

Twitter FollowFriday HelperOnce you have logged in with your Twitter account via Twitter Oauth, you can start recommending those Twitters that have been kind enough to have ReTweeted your tweets, mentioned you, ReTweets you’ve made to other Tweeters and even those that have already recommended you in the past, it’s simply to do and when you make your choice a list is loaded up with the Twitters avatar, bio, URL, location and other information about how many tweets they have mentioned you with etc. You can even see the tweets they have made about you, very handy when you want to know what they have tweeted or retweeted.

But the really nice thing that I like about Twitter FollowFriday Helper, is that it’s not just for FollowFriday, you can use it for a selection of other preset hashtags – #FollowFriday #ff #ThankYou #TY #Gratitude #Top #FollowSaturday #FollowSunday #FollowMonday #FollowTuesday #FollowWednesday #FollowThursday #FollowNow #FollowEveryDay #MustFollow #FollowerOfTheDay – plus, you can add your own in the tweetbox, so really you can use it for anything you want, I select my recommendation and then add a line of text at the end saying why I recommend them and then you get a tweet like this:
