There can be times when you hit that “Delete All Spam” button in your WordPress dashboard, but, sometimes not all the comments in the SPAM section should be there and every so often someone might have their comment classed as SPAM when it isn’t.

So when you get a list of SPAM comments in WordPress make sure you check to see if someone you know not to be a spammer has fallen in the wrong box, this can easily happen and one of the reasons can be that someone is commenting either too quickly or too much and if this does happen then usually that person will be blacklisted across many WordPress driven blogs.

To stop this from happening check your comments and if you do see a commenter that shouldn’t be in the SPAM section then “Approve” their comment and after a few times they should start going straight to the blog rather that in the Spam section in the comments.

So to recap! Don’t just click the “delete all spam” button, check your spam section and approve anyone that has accidently fallen into the section

I’ve just backed up the database of my blog and used the auto update option in the WordPress dashboard and it’s updated to the latest version, so far everything seems to be running ok, and all my plugins seem to be behaving themselves.
