Ryan is a keen internet marketer working for a company that deal with serviced offices London and more specifically serviced offices Victoria and the areas within it. Here are some of the top jobs that children really want to grow up doing.

It would certainly seem that kids always want to grow up to be successful and it would seem that even at a very young ages they are looking forward to what they want to be when they get older. Do you remember what you wanted to grow up to be when you were a kid? Well I asked a fair number of people and these are the ones that kept cropping up.

The Services

It would seem that a lot of people out there always wanted to be a Fireperson, Police Officer and even Paramedic/ Doctor when they were younger but is there any easy explanation for this? Well if you look at the type of products that shops sell to children you will start to see a bit of a trend. Many play sets revolving around these jobs are available to children and to me this is the major reason why there are so many people that wanted to grow up being in one of these professions.

Sports Player

Although these aren’t really the best of role models to follow they still seem to be ranking very highly on the list of things to grow up being for kids. The main reason for this seems to be that kids actually play the sports a lot and pretend that they are their favourite stars from the sport they are playing. If they are always playing the sports then it makes perfect sense that they want to grow up to be a player.

Astronaut

This is another big one and this has to be down to the fact that many kids love the idea of space travel. [intlink id="review-final-destination-3d" type="post"]Movies[/intlink] such as Star Wars and major franchises like Star Trek have really helped with putting this idea into a child’s mind. Many children cross this kind of thing with time travelling too thanks to programmes like [intlink id="matt-smith-is-the-new-doctor-who" type="post"]Doctor Who[/intlink]. The great thing about this idea is that children know they have to be smart to get to the top which is why you will find they will really start trying in school.

Rock/Pop Star

Although these two are very different things entirely I think it best to include them in the same section just because kids often do not know the difference. There are so many pop and rock stars out there that appeal to so many different audiences that you can easily see why children are so interested in becoming just like them. Kids will start to learn all of the songs that they sing and this is great because it is encouraging a child to take up something whether that is going to be simply sitting there and singing or learning to play an instrument either is great for a child to learn.

Business Person

Thanks to people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs there are many people that want to grow up being in charge of an office or company full of people. This once again is harmless but you should be careful if your child starts telling you what to do because they cannot get out of the role they are pretending to be in.

All in all if your child wants to grow up to be someone you should really just go a long with it and let them do what they want. It will change over the years there is no doubt about that but if you are showing support to them then they will really appreciate it. Never simply sit them down and say “no you cannot do that, it’s impossible”. If all children grow up thinking that anything is possible if you just try you will find the next generation to be very smart and hard working people.

Being an astronaut is indeed one of the most often heard ambitions of children. Some mostly heard are doctors, lawyers. and other white collar jobs. It is rarely that I hear mechanic or technician. Best regards.

I’ve always wanted to be a business leader. I was never a fan of corruption and didn’t like how rich the CEO’s were compared to the people actually running the company. That’s why my ambition was always to start a business and be a role model for not just kids, but other aspiring business leaders. One day you will see me on the cover of Forbes :) .

Being an astronaut was what I was thinking as a child watching the stars, but now these so called dream is no were to be found. The most amazing thing about these child dreams is that nobody can stop them but in time life will show everybody’s way and those dreams as a child will be forgotten.

You know I really don’t remember wanting to be anything when I grew up – maybe since I haven’t grown up I still have time. :) I think maybe when I grow up I want to spend all day commenting on blogs and procrastinating… what kind of job gets to do that?

And “Extreme John” don’t worry too much video game testers make a pretty good living. :)

These are some classic examples to be sure. And nothing wrong with that – if your kid dreams of becoming a rock star and has lots of talent he or she may indeed become a musician one day.

I think a more pragmatic problem is when the “kids” are a bit older an actually start to seriously look for an education and a profession. And knowing what will be in demand five years from now is always difficult.

When I was in my early twenties everybody wanted to become journalists and/or work in media, and people taking this route got jobs before even finishing their education. Today is a different story with “journalists” being more a “dime a dozen” kind of commodity.
