Now there comes a time when you may have a some Twitters that you follow that haven’t posted for ages (stale twitter followers), I don’t mean a week or two I mean maybe longer than a month, so how do you weed them out and unfollow them! Well, you use UnTweeps to cleanup your Twitter and remove those that haven’t posted recently.
Using UnTweeps is simple and will unfollow stale twitter followers, just enter your Twitter details, or if like me you prefer not to enter your password you can use the Twitter Oauth system.

Then you can simple select from the drop down menu how you would like to search for your non twitters, either 30, 60 or 90 days, then hit “List Stale Tweets” it’s that simple.

Once you hit the button UnTweeps will search through your friends to find out who is “Stale” then it is up to you to select from the list who you would like to revove and who to keep.
So if you are not sure if someone is taking up your twitter friends, who hasn’t posted for ages then UnTweeps is certainly the thing to use, I do use it myself and find it a valuable Twitter Tool to keep my tweets fresh.

A very interesting site, although I see you can only select from 30 days onwards. I do understand that 30 days is ok with some, but what if I wanted to check the last 15 days or so.
Still very unique, thanks for sharing this with us

It is a shame that it is a minimum of 30 days, if you use the premium service which is a crazy $1 a year, then you can choose between 0 to 999 days!

@Karen – why would they even charge $1 for the year? That sounds weird and sort of dumb at the same time, just my opinion.

It is a strange amount $1 for a year, I personally wouldn’t pay as the free option is good enough.

I have no specifically used “UnTweeps” to unfollow people, I have used a few other tools. One warning I do have is that many of the Twitter friend removal tools out there are a scam. I am constantly testing Twitter tools and one thing I found that a lot of these friend removal tools will do is actually make you auto follow like 30 people.
If you have had success with this one than I might have to give it a shot.

I have used other tools for this but I have not heard of this one yet. I will have to check it out, but I certainly will not pay for it. 1$ why even bother…

This is interesting service, Karen! But why to pay $1 per year? We are already facing many financial load, especialy if you’re running your a self-hosted website with domain name!

I’m like John, tested way too many Twitter tools and sites out there that have been garbage but this seems interesting.

You could use ReFollow, but remember not to use it as a spamming tool!

Wow this is an extremely great tool to keep our Tweeter account fresh and maintain the Twitter followers and following ratio. Thanks a lot

Hi Karen! I’m not meaning to be a “wet blanket” but I advise against un-following “tools” like untweeps ::: here’s why: I follow Karl Lagenfeld and MIA. Both tweet rarely. I would never want to UNfollow them.
A better method is to use twitgether in conjunction with Google or Facebook. You can click on a link to see if someone is following you back or not. This gives you complete control over the unfollowing process!

Thanks Dave, I’ll have to check out Twitgether, there are options to make a white list of your followers of UnTweeps and that’s one of the methods I use, to keep those that I do like to keep following

Great tool! Now that Twitter is becoming more and more popular, I didn’t want people seeing that I was following a bunch of nobodies. A few here and there is okay but a while back I would follow anyone that followed me. Now I regret it. I am going to use this twitter cleanup tool right away!

Thanks for stopping by, it does seem that nowadays people will join twitter, tweet once or twice and then that’s it, mainly because they don’t like it
