Yesterday, was my tinkering day and I decided to update the way the authors posts are displayed when you click on the author’s name in the blog posts.

So after creating a new author.php file and taking the information for the layout for the theme I am using and adding it to the new author file, I decided that it would look even better if I utilised the “author box” that is at the bottom of all the posts here on my blog, just thought it would look even better.

So after adding that piece of code, I added the section for the articles that an author has written, with the information such as date posted, comments received etc. Giving the author page something that little bit more.

Over time I may add snippets from the blog posts to the lists of articles in the author pages, but for now, I think they look a lot better than the default author archives that I originally had.

Check out the my new look author page and let me know what you think.

I think the author page looks great. It does feel like a bit more could be added – there’s a lot of blank space – but I’m personally frightened of tinkering with my own blog code. Kudos to you for getting this to work well.

Actually, it is possible to add a box to the author page that says stuff like “things this author likes/favorite sites” etc.? A box that would be like a mini-meme?

I’m looking into adding some other info on the author pages and ways of adding them, such as author likes etc ;)

That space can be filled with more articles. I mean you can display more than 7 articles if the author published more. From my point of view it would look better if you can read all the articles of an author on one page instead of pressing previous or next buttons.

I like how the page titles are layed out… is this the FV community news plugin in action?.. It just looks familiar… but the overall look is great!

What I love is the confidence you have in making changes to the .php files. I always get a little nervous when I start changing things like that.

I do like the “written by” box that you have at the bottom of each post. Is that part of the WordPress theme you use or your own innovation?
