It amazes me that with the cheap price of films on DVD these days that people still decide to watch pirated versions of the films, but why?

I was talking to someone recently who had just got around ten films off someone they knew of some of the latest movies in the cinema, so I asked why? Why would you watch films that are so bad in quality it’s like going back to the days of videos?

Their answer was this, “There free!”

But what about the quality, wouldn’t it be better to see them in the cinema or wait for them to come out on DVD, I got the same answer.

My personal point of view is that I would rather see a film in the cinema in glorious surround sound and great picture quality, or wait for the DVD and watch it on a 38inch HD tv with Cinema sound than sit there and watch a film with a crappy picture, muffled sound and the odd occasion hearing people ask if they would like some more popcorn.

@sylvied: Thanks for commenting. I love a trip to the cinema, meeting up with friends and having a talk about the film after, much better that sitting watching something you can’t hear or see properly.

yeah I’m with you. Actually, I love going out to movies… and I also have an HDTV here at home now. And I hate watching low quality movies and TV shows on it! I’ll defintely pay for better quality. :)

  5. I watch very few films, so if I do, It’s because it’s something I really want to see. Why would I want to watch some rubbish pirated version? Give me a decent DVD or the cinema every time!

I think everyone would rather watch the movie at the theater, but you answered your question it is free and there are always going to be people that will give up some confort or quality becuase its free.

people are obsessed with free, and after all, nothing is less than paying nothing. As i quirky note, i need to wear my specs to go to the movies or watch tv, but not on my laptop. Just some points. oh hey, snap, I make electronic music too
