I was reading my comments the other day and was asked what plugins I use for creating my weekly stats. and monthly stats. on my blog, so I thought I would write a post about them. All the plugins are free to download from their sites or you can find them via the add new option in your WordPress plugins section in your WordPress dashboard.

chart 300x231 WordPress Plugins used for my Weekly and Monthly StatsOk so here is a list with brief description and links of the plugins I use for the round ups on Blazing Minds.

Analytics 360 – This plugin will allow you to access the data from your Google analytics and display them directly in your Wordpress Admin.

My Top Commentators – The plugin is used for grabbing the Top Commentators on my blog over a given period, and is available in the dashboard box when installed.

Comment Stats – Shows month-over-month statistics for all of your blog comments.

WP-Stats – Display your WordPress blog statistics. Ranging from general total statistics, some of my plugins statistics and top 10 statistics.

WordPress.com Stats – Tracks views, post/page views, referrers, and clicks. Requires a WordPress.com API key.

So that’s it, those are the plugins that I am currently using for my round ups ;)

I use WP-stats to compliment my AWstats and Google Analytics. I like the information it provides daily, but I have had problems with it slowing down blogs.

I’ve heard a few blogger say it slows their blogs down, I might give the blog a test without WP-Stats and see if it improves my blogs speed ;)

wp-stats and wordpress.com stats are heavily memory and database intensive as they constantly have to read and write to your SQL database, they will cause blog performance issues under high blog load. I had to remove them from causing outages on my blog during peak load times.

Thanks I’ll check some of these out. I like the idea of being able to check things from your dashboard.

Regarding your comment above about loading speed, Your blog loaded VERY slowly for me today but clicking around went pretty fast.

Does top commentors even do much for people? Does it send a lot of traffic, or do people generally ignore it?

The top commentators plugin mentioned here is different, in that it only shows your commentators stats on your dashboard.

I want to install that Top Commentators plug-in, but I’m also on “I want as few plug-ins as possible” and “don’t crowd the sidebar” tangents. I think I’ve committed to rewarding my readers in other ways – stumbles, subscriptions, posting links to their blogs in my posts, etc.

But yeah, in response to someone asking if the Top Commentators feature works, it does – I get noticed at other blogs because of it.

    Ashok,

I am trying to think how you would stumble a comment. Are you saying you go to their websites and stumble or subscribe to them?

Definitely that, although if you see a very good comment, it doesn’t hurt to look for a permalink and see if it can be stumbled.
