With Christmas just around the corner, it’s time to get celebrating with some fun at the theatre and how about giving the kids the gift of music this Christmas with Bert & Cherry’s Christmas Plum Pudding which will be at St David’s Hall, Cardiff, from Saturday 17 – Tuesday 20 December.

Bert & Cherry’s Christmas Plum Pudding sounds like a fabulous festive show, which features magic musical interludes and lovable characters, plus presents and mischief galore! The show will run with six fun-filled performances altogether with two on each day at 10.30am and 12.30pm (excluding Sunday 18 December).

This hour-long seasonal show in Lefel 1 features music from three of the Tiddly Proms alongside Christmas songs with much fun and frivolity guaranteed along the way.

Bert & Cherry are back to spread some seasonal cheer with this amazingly interactive live musical show that not only encourages under 5s to take a keen interest in music, but it also re-introduces adults to the way they look at Christmas.

Bert is in a festive mood. The Christmas tree is decorated with baubles and tinsel, and he’s wrapped up everything for the big day (and we mean everything!) Cherry is coming to help with the finishing touches, and all their musical friends will be popping in too. As usual expect a lively story, lots of silly songs to sing along with and a large helping of musical plum pudding!

Plus, this year you can take the magic home with you with the very special album release of Music from Bert’s Magical Musical Allotment. Available from all major digital distributors you can relive the joy back in the comfort of your own home (Apple iTunes, Amazon MP3, CD Baby, Google Music Store, YouTube Music, Spotify and much more).

The show is created by the Arts Active, who drive education, community and audience engagement programmes from their base at St David’s Hall to motivate young people (and all ages) to engage in and enjoy arts activity. Arts Active present an accessible, interactive and informative pre-school concert to tour venues and community centres reaching those young children who would not usually get to experience live music.

Bert & Cherry’s Christmas Plum Pudding is on Saturday 17 – Tuesday 20 December at 10.30am and 12.30pm on Lefel 1 (excluding Sunday 18 December).

It seems that there will be lots happening during the show what interaction can the audience expect with the performers? “Expect a lot of audience participation with Bert and Cherry!  They encourage the children to sing along with all the songs – they are catchy and easy to learn, often including fun hand gestures or silly noises to make!  The show is an extremely relaxed atmosphere with kids encouraged to get involved as much as possible.

Does the show reflect great value family fun? “Most definitely.  Booking tickets for a family can get expensive, but parents don’t have to worry about that with our shows, as they represent excellent value for money. Tickets for Bert and Cherry’s Plum Pudding are just £7.50.

Why is the show unmissable? “Bert and Cherry’s Christmas Plum Pudding is a firm favourite for families as it’s so lovely to see little ones enthralled by the singing and the story!  Children do sometimes get carried away and end up running onstage, which is always really funny – Bert and Cherry always handle it really well!
