A married couple flees to a farmhouse ahead of a scandal that threatens to ruin them in the film Boneyard.
After the discovery of an ancient graveyard, Jane becomes plagued by a nefarious haunting apparition that is unravelling her soul and sanity.
The film introduces us to the characters at the start of the scandal so it is not really drawn out like most movies at the beginning, which sometimes is what I like. We get to know the characters and their history as the story progresses and we discover more about the scandal as they do which again is good.
Starring Jason Bowen as David Morrison as the university professor who is has an accusation made against him by one of his female students and Helen von Bretzke as his wife Jane Morrison. This low-budget horror really has a good story and the acting is good. It can get confusing as the film progresses so you really have to watch it and pay attention to understand what is happening, especially close to the end.
The film also stars Stev Vanvolkingburgh as the local officer Tony Jones and Sue Del-mei as Diane Findlay. Directed by Brent Nurse and Steven Spencer, it is also written by Steven Spencer.
The movie really has a good story and a good plot, the acting is good and it is brilliantly filmed. It just seemed to lack something to get the adrenaline pumping and excitement going. It was like watching an 80’s horror movie that was shot without all the gore etc.
It did have a feel of Friday the 13th about and cabin in the woods in parts.
I did enjoy it, even though it started to confuse me a little especially towards the end and the ending was a little confusing too.
