Saturday night was the last night of the Coast 2 Coast Festival and it promised to be a loud and exciting evening with UB40 performing in the Big Top.
The crowds of people were already arriving at around 5pm at the Rhyl Events Arena in anticipation for a few hours listening to UB40 performing their hits.
At 7pm a DJ took to the stage to keep everyone entertained before the headlining act of the weekend would take to the stage at around 8pm.
Introduction music started to play, the lights went down and the band members came onto the stage one by one, at this point, the audience were even more excited than earlier.
UB40 Live at Coast to Coast
The big top erupted into song and not just from the band, the audience merged forward towards the pit as the band started the night’s entertainment, with each song the big top was a place of sheer excitement and Rhyl certainly showed their support for the band.
Fans were loving the show and it was great to see over 3,000 people packed into the Big Top to see UB40 perform.
Finishing with Red Red Wine, the audience in the tent went wild, you could probably hear the whistles for more over in Prestatyn. But not wanting to disappoint the audience, UB40 returned to the stage and pleased the crowd with an encore with several more tracks.
A sea of hands in the air with a lot of mobile phones shot up into the air to record and photograph this amazing evening in the Coast 2 Coast big top.
One thing is certain from the night’s performance and the amount of people at the event, the doom sayers on Facebook saying, “No one knows about the Coast 2 Coast event” were wrong.
The past four nights have been fantastic and tonight only proved that lots of people knew about the evening’s entertainment and the packed Big Top showed people’s love of a great evening for Rhyl.
A massive thank you to Liz Hobbs Group for inviting us over to cover the event and for allowing us some exclusive access over the for days of the Coast 2 Coast Festival.
