TIS Films and Video Dungeon Releasing are pleased to announce “Horror-on-Sea: 13 Bloody Years” – a documentary about the beloved Essex Horror festival.
The documentary is being directed by TIS founders Alexander Churchyard and Michael Holiday, and produced by Singh Lall.
Singh Lall: “As the Curator of the Horror On Sea Video Dungeon, I am so excited to help tell the story of the amazing Festival through this documentary.”
Alex says: “We’ve been working on our feature-length documentary ‘Shoestring’ which looks at the DIY/Indie horror scene for quite a while. It occurred to us that we have a great opportunity to also celebrate our hometown festival’s 13th anniversary by making this documentary in tandem with Shoestring.”
Paul Cotgrove – the man behind Horror on Sea – has endorsed the documentary and will be featured throughout it.
Paul says “The Horror-on-Sea Film Festival are proud to say that we have been exclusively supporting Independent Horror film making for 13 Bloody Years”
And that’s precisely the purpose of this documentary – to celebrate Horror-on-Sea’s support of the indie horror scene over the last 13 years, and to show just how much it means to so many in our community of indie horror filmmakers and fans.
We’ve already interviewed the likes of Tom Lee Rutter (Pocket Film of Superstitions), Cy Henty (Deadly Display), Dani Thompson (I Scream on the Beach!), Eileen Daly (Razor Blade Smile) & MJ Dixon (Slasher House III).
Also appearing will be Pat Higgins, who has been a part of Horror-on-Sea since its inception, giving talks every year and showing several of his films, and festival stalwart Mark Lawrence, who has attended every film the festival has ever shown.
We’re looking for anyone connected to Horror-on-Sea – whether you are a filmmaker/actor who has had films shown at the festival, or an attendee with a story to tell. So please get in touch if you’d like to participate in any way, including being interviewed.
