It’s almost that time again folks, the time of year that we pack up all our gear, grab our schedules and head across Wales to join thousands of people who are descending on Pwllheli for one weekend of the year!

Most of you who do read the Blazing Minds articles will know that last year we did the same, we went over to Pwllheli to cover the Sci-Fi Weekender and boy oh boy was it a busy few days, so much so that when we returned the website was dedicated to a whole week of articles.

Sci-Fi Weekender

This year our team has doubled, we now have our own Presenter from our sister site, Ask The Usher, who will not only be working for the sister site, but also working with Blazing Minds, as I will myself.

Meet The Team

Our new entertainment journalist/presenter is Nicola Kemp-Simonds and she is doing brilliantly with all the demands of work that we are throwing at her, but she will have a little bit of a shock this weekend, as she will have behind the scenes knowledge of how much myself and Lee Howard work at these events.

We also have our new “go-for”, Ash, he’s going to be running around like a mad fool for us, but don’t worry he’s going to be well fed and watered 😉 Ash is going to be our eyes and ears during the weekend and he’s also going to be doing a little bit of the Social Media Networking during the weekend (that’s if he can pull me off Twitter!).

Then there is Lee Howard (Entertainment Journalist/Creative Director), Lee and I have worked with each other for some years now and it’s very good of Lee’s other half to let us have him for the weekend lol. Seriously though Lee is a key member of the team, his skills as a camera man and organiser are second to none.

And let’s not forget me, the crazy one behind Blazing Minds and co-founder (Editor-in-Chief), with Lee, at Ask The Usher. As with Last years Sci-Fi Weekender, I’m going to be interviewing, writing, filming, photographing and Tweeting etc. There’s no rest for the weary 😉

Bringing The Sci-Fi Weekender in Pwllheli to You

So as you can see we are going to be massively busy, we have interviews lined up, one for the main stage at the event, as well as lots more to come over the weekend from the 27th – 30th March.

From experience we know what the mobile signals are like in the area, so you may find that several tweets etc on the twitter accounts for @BlazingMinds and @AskTheUsher may come through at once, we apologise in advance for those.

But, we will have some exclusive photos via the social networking and a lot more for you to see while we cover the event, we’ll grab as many of the Sci-Fi authors, actors, graphic artists and fans we can and bring you as much as possible.

So please follow the Twitter accounts and don’t forget those Hash Tags that we will use as well, these will be #BMLiveTweets, #ATULive and of cause #SFW5. We will be using a mixture of these so keep those eyes peeled.

More Than Articles and Photographs

As I mentioned earlier, this year we are taking the Sci-Fi Weekender a step further for its coverage, with the new sister site running along side, we will know be bringing you video interviews and probably a few extra pieces that will show you the mass of people who go to possible the biggest Sci-Fi Weekend in Wales.

What of cause this all means is a lot of work and this is one of the reasons our team has grown, with Nicola now on board we have extra time for other things to be picked up on and we can bring you something special from the weekend.

What’s Left To Do!

So we have the schedules for the weekend, we know who we are meeting and interviewing, now all that’s left for us to do, is to wait for the moment on Thursday when the Sci-Fi Weekender starts and we have days and evenings of lots of work and early hours of wine then sleep!

Are you going to the Sci-Fi Weekender this weekend? Let us know in the comments below, we may bump in to there.
