My Pick of 2017s Movies That I Loved Watching

2017 has been a great year for movies, we’ve seen a fantastic selection of movies in many genres that have been a delight to watch on the big screen in the various formats including 2D, 3D and IMAX as well as on the small screen with some new releases.

So as 2017 is almost at an end, it’s time for the Movie list post of those movies that have been fun to watch.

IT

Back in the 90s, we were brought the first look of Pennywise the clown as the brilliant Tim Curry took on the role of the clown in Stephen King’s IT that put the frighteners up people and probably caused more cases of Coulrophobia (the fear of clowns) than in recent years.

IT is a brilliant adaptation of the Stephen King book, the movie has great casting, direction, editing and more. This is a movie that you have to see on the big screen, but be prepared to scream! of the Stephen King book, the movie has great casting, direction, editing and more. Dunkirk

There is a moment in cinema history when a film comes along that catches the attention of almost everyone, Dunkirk is one of those movies and it is also a movie that had to be seen in IMAX!

Dunkirk features a prestigious cast, including Tom Hardy (The RevenantMad Max: Fury Road, Inception), Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies, Wolf Hall), Kenneth Branagh (My Week with Marilyn, Hamlet, Henry V) and Cillian Murphy (Inception, The Dark Knight Trilogy), as well as newcomer Fionn Whitehead. The ensemble cast also includes Harry Styles (One Direction) making his feature film debut.

War of the Planet of the Apes

After the first two brilliant Apes Movies, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, we have the last in the trilogy with War for the Planet of the Apes.

The rebooted franchise has become very popular, with modern CGI taking the place of “men in monkey suits”, the three films have brought us the story of how Earth has been taken to the world that is not run by Apes, but a world that has struggled to have man and primate living side by side in unity!

If you love the Ape Movies then War for the Planet of the Apes is a must see, it’s a fitting end to the trilogy with great action to tie all the films together.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man is a movie on the MCU that you must see, it’s a teenager’s coming of age movie with that twist of superhero fun. Forget all those other Spider-Man movies, this is the one that should have come along in the first place, but then again without the others, mistakes wouldn’t have been made and this movie might not have been the one we have now.

Finally, the Spider-Man movie that we’ve been waiting for and another Marvel movie that shows that Marvel knows exactly how to do a great superhero movie.

Baby Driver

Baby Driver tells the story of a “Baby“, after being coerced into working for a crime boss, the young getaway driver finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail.

From Edgar Wright, the director of Hot Fuzz, comes a movie that has mixed an all-out action movie with breathtaking car chases, humour and one hell of a soundtrack that is beautifully edited into the scenes of the movie to create something that is not only a pleasure to watch but also has your heart thumping and your toes tapping.
