The excitement is exploding now as we are just under two months away from heading offer to Great Yarmouth for one of our favourite events, the news is in with an SFW XVI Line-up update and some amazing new guests that will be at the world-famous Geek Camp.
First of all, it’s sad news that Tony Slattery who was attending and bringing us an improvisation comedy show, sadly passed away on January 14th, our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Also, Christina Chong is no longer able to attend SFW XVI in March.
New guest announcements have been announced with the first being CAROLYN SEYMOUR!
Carolyn Seymour is an English actress, best known for portraying the role of Abby Grant in the BBC series Survivors (1975) and Queen Myrrah in the Gears of War franchise. She was born in Buckinghamshire to an Estonian father of Russian descent and an Irish mother. One of her early television roles was as Jenny in the BBC drama series Take Three Girls, and an early film appearance was as Zita in the film Steptoe and Son (1972) alongside Harry H. Corbett and Wilfrid Brambell. Her best-known movie role remains Grace Gurney in The Ruling Class (1972), opposite Peter O’Toole. She left Survivors at the end of its first series and appeared in the Space: 1999 episode The Seance Spectre and with Joan Collins in The Bitch (1979). She then moved to the United States and made numerous appearances on television shows, including Hart to Hart; Modesty Blaise; Family Ties; Cagney & Lacey; Remington Steele; Magnum, P.I.; The Twilight Zone; Murder, She Wrote; Matlock; Quantum Leap; Star Trek: The Next Generation; Civil Wars; L.A. Law; Red Shoe Diaries; Star Trek: Voyager; and ER. She has contributed voice work for several Star Wars video games, portraying characters such as Shmi Skywalker and Mon Mothma. She provides the voice for the Locust Queen Myrrah in Gears of War, Dr. Karin Chakwas in the Mass Effect series and the Elder God of Water in Mortal Kombat Annihilation. She has played in audio plays by LA Theatre Works and Hollywood Theatre of the Ear as well as narrated audiobooks.
Sadly ELINE POWELL can now attend the event, but instead, and on SATURDAY ONLY we have top stuntman BILLY CLEMENTS.
Billy Clements is a British actor and stunt performer known for his intense screen presence and action-driven roles in film and television. With a background in high-profile productions, he has built a strong reputation in both the acting and stunt communities, frequently portraying mercenaries, warriors, and enforcers in major action films and TV series including Deadpool & Wolverine, Meg 2: The Trench, Dune: Part Two, Eternals, Black Widow and Tenet. Billy Clements continues to establish himself as a formidable presence in the industry, combining physicality with strong screen performances, making him a sought-after talent in both action films and high-stakes dramas.

PHOTO STUDIO will be coming to SFW for the first time, where you can buy posed photographs with the celebrity guests, or even just have your own pics taken. Details of how to book these will be available shortly, and the guest schedule for them will be published as soon as it is available. The photographs are taken and printed immediately on-site, so you get your pics taken, then come back a little later to collect the results. This is in addition to the VIP Signature Pass.
We’re currently finalising the details and the schedules and these will be published as soon as they are ready. Likewise, the Awards on the THURSDAY NIGHT now have a theme attached. And this is BACK TO THE 80S!! So there’s lots of scope there to break out your clothes in storage and to boogie on down to an eighties playlist, as well as celebrate the great and the good of our SFW Community with a selection of Awards. Some serious, some not so serious, but all presented with love and appreciation for the efforts that all the recipients put in to making SFW, and the Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror community a better place.
Blazing Minds will be at SFW XVI all weekend as we shoot the red carport and the awards, and update our social media with exclusive images, videos and news on what’s happening. We may also be bringing you some exclusive video chats with some of the amazing guests who are attending, that all depends on time as many know we are extremely busy covering this amazing event.
