A few weeks ago I decided to check out a website called Smashbomb, a site for not only a place to add the movies you are watching but also to leave reviews of them, but the site isn’t just for movies it’s for almost everything that you can review and it’s a place for reviews from the bloggers, journalist and more that you trust.
Smashbomb will allow you to recommend and discover new entertainment (you probably weren’t looking for) from your followers and those you follow. We are talking about anything! Products, Movies, Places, Books, Apps, Services, Websites, Games, Youtube Channels, Tech, Restaurants, Things To Do, Gigs, Musicals, Things To Do, Food and Drink and more…
I know what you are thinking, “aren’t other sites that do the same thing“, well not like Smashbomb, one of the things that I like about the site is the KP (Kudos Points) Rewards that other users can give to one another when they have enjoyed a review that has been written for something on the website, these KP Rewards can then be used for some of the great opportunities that site has to offer, such as entering giveaways and much more. Let’s face it, who doesn’t like the opportunity to win some DVD, CD, Funkopops and many other great prizes that come up on Smashbomb.
Like many sites these days, Smashbomb has an app on Android and IOS which is very handy when you have just come out of the cinema and want to get your review down quickly or simply give the movie a quick ranking, which on the site is from 1 to 10.
The app is very easy to use and navigation around it is a breeze with the icons at the bottom to take you to the key places you want to go to and an easy to use search box to find what you are looking for.
If you can’t find what you are looking for, especially if the movie is a new release, then never fear there is a fantastic option for you to add the information for the movie, by adding everything you could possibly need to add for a page for the release. This isn’t just for movies though, you can do the same for music, tech and much more which will help other users to be able to add their reviews to Smashbomb.
Adding you interests to Smashbomb
If like me you have a love for certain genres of movies then you can add your selection of interests to your profile allowing you to search for other like-minded users to follow or check out to see what they are reviewing and what their thoughts are. When you click one of your listed genres you will get the options to view All, Public Figures, Influencers and Partners.

I love Badges on the system and the more you put into Smashbomb the more you get back from it, as you can see from the screenshot of my account on the app I’ve got the Movie Reviewer and Smashbomb Expert, but that’s just the start I have gained more and you get the option to share the badge on your website as well as sharing the news of your latest addition to your progress on Facebook and Twitter.

If you are looking for ideas for books to read, movies to watch or even music to listen to, then you can use the “Discover” button on the bottom of the app, this will display a screen that features the latest reviews, trending apps, trending books, trending movies and more, so you will always have an idea of what your next rating/review will be on Smashbomb.
Everyone loves giveaways
From experience since starting Blazing Minds, I’ve seen that giveaways are extremely popular and as I mentioned at the start of this review Smashbomb has a section to win some amazing prizes.
If you are on the App you simply select the Giveaways option at the bottom and you are then given a list of all the prizes that are up for grabs including DVDs, Books, Video Games and more. Many of the giveaways are available to everyone, but the more Kudos points you have, the more options open up for prizes to win.
For example, you need 1,000 KPs to be able to have the chance of getting a “Smashbomb – Review the World” T-Shirt. But with so many other amazing prizes up for grabs, there is plenty for you to enter for a chance to win.
