With the rebranding of SyFy on Sky TV as Sky Sci-Fi, there are some great shows that have arrived, after binging on FROM the other day I decide to check out SurrealEstate which stars Tim Rozon who most of you may recognise as Doc Holiday from the brilliant Wynonna Earp.
SurrealEstate is about the Roman Agency which is an estate agent that deals with houses that have supernatural problems and the owners just want to get rid of the property, it’s down to Luke Roman (Tim Rozon) and his team of agents and ghosthunters to help remove the supernatural presence from the properties so that the houses can be sold.
The very first episode opens with what can only be described as a homage to The Exorcist with Luke arriving at a house in the dark and walking up the steps of the house in a moment that looks very much like the moment that the priest arrives at the house in The Exorcist, it’s a moment that really grabbed my attention and had me thinking, “I may like this one”.
This house is one that will be a focal point throughout the 10 episodes of series one, as the series runs we get to learn more about Luke, his past and the house as the Roman Agency attempt to cleanse this house and many others.
SurrealEstate doesn’t take the horror and shocks to the extremes of the likes of American Horror Story, but the series does have that creepy vibe to it, with each episode being an enjoyable and interesting watch, I loved the way that it builds on some of the characters with some pleasant surprises through the show.
If you are a fan of shows that have a supernatural twist then this is certainly one you may want to check out, the cast is great throughout series one and they come together nicely from start to finish, there are also some nice easter eggs thrown in for you to pick up on as well, such as some of the names they give to the entities such as “The Harvey” which is a play on the name of the giant rabbit in the James Stewart movie from 1950 which was the name of the imaginary friend.
Season one of SurrealEstate is currently showing on UK TV via the new rebranded SyFy channel on Sky which is now called Sky Sci-Fi, all episodes are available to download via the platform and it’s also available on NOW.
Is there a second season of SurrealEstate?
With many shows running for a season and then being cancelled, I wondered the same thing, but thankfully news was announced on Deadline that the show had been saved from cancellation and would be returning for a second season. Thank goodness for that, as that last episode left me wanting more.

Summary
SurrealEstate is one of those shows that is slightly different from other spooky shows and the concept of an estate agent that can see ghosts is a nice refreshing touch.
