Hey, horror fans we have some Gothic Horror news for you today with the first look at the new movie The Baby in the Basket.
Strive Global Media (Fabrication Films label) has secured the worldwide sales rights on the gothic horror THE BABY IN THE BASKET starring Amber Doig-Thorne (Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey), Michaela Longden (How to Kill Monsters), Elle O’Hara (When Darkness Falls), Lisa Riesner (Charlie’s Angels) and Nathan Shepka (Lock & Load) alongside veteran British talent Annabelle Lanyon (Legend), Maryam d’Abo (The Living Daylights) and Paul Barber (The Full Monty).

Produced by Shepka Productions and Flickering Myth, “The Baby in the Basket” is a movie set in 1942 during World War II. The story takes place at the isolated Scottish monastery St. Augustine’s, where the nuns are preparing for an incoming storm front. One night, a baby in a basket is left on the doorstep, and the sisters decide to take it in and care for it. However, as the evening progresses, one of the nuns, Sister Agnes (played by Doig-Thorne), becomes suspicious and believes that the child is the son of the Devil.

The film is directed by Nathan Shepka and Andy Crane from an award-winning script by Tom Jolliffe (Cinderella’s Revenge). Shepka and Jolliffe produce alongside Gary Collinson of Flickering Myth, with Sanatan Kadakia (Control) executive producing via Hidden Ridge Productions.
“We do not often find stylish horror films like THE BABY IN THE BASKET in the marketplace which is very flooded with repetitive horror titles. This film is really something special and stands out as a film to see. We are so pleased to be representing it.” says Miriam Elchanan, President of Sales & Acquisitions at Strive Global Media.

“THE BABY IN THE BASKET has been a passion project that has been brought to the screen by a fantastic cast and crew,” states writer and producer Tom Jolliffe. “We can’t wait for the world to see the finished film and we’re delighted that Strive Global Media has secured worldwide sales rights and will be debuting the film at Cannes Film Market.”
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Miriam and the team at Strive Global Media on THE BABY IN THE BASKET and thank them for the enthusiasm they have shown towards the film,” added Gary Collinson of Flickering Myth. “It is a testament to the work of our wonderful cast and crew, and we look forward to being able to share it with audiences around the world.”
In addition to THE BABY IN THE BASKET, Shepka Productions and Flickering Myth are also set to reunite for an as-yet-untitled action thriller, which is targeting an early 2025 shoot in the UK.

THE BABY IN THE BASKET is produced by Shepka Productions, Flickering Myth and Hidden Ridge Productions in association with Jolliffe Productions and Nerdly UK.
