We’ve been waiting with anticipation for the official trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and it is finally here and all we can say is that, very much like The Force Awakens trailer, this one also makes the hair on the back of your neck stand to attention!

The Last Jedi sees Rey, having taken her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, she continues her epic journey with Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the saga.

The latest in the saga sees many of the cast returning to the movie, including the late Carrie Fisher as Leia, this will be Carrie Fisher’s final performance as Princess Leia. She had completed principal photography for this film, but passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2016, during post-production. She intended to reprise her role in the next Star Wars film, but unfortunately passed away before filming began. It’s also been rumoured that Tom Hardy will be a Stormtrooper in the movie, so if this is true it will be another one of those spot him if you can moments. It has been confirmed John Williams will compose the music for Episode VIII. This will be the 8th Star Wars film he composed for.

The Last Jedi also marks the 40th anniversary of Star Wars which was released in 1977 (damn, now I do feel old!), also as we mentioned in our Sci-Fi Weekender coverage, Jimmy Vee will be taking the helm of R2-D2 after the Kenny Baker sadly passed away.

Ok enough chat, let’s get on with it, check out the official trailer below.
