Steven Soderbergh’s Unsane is the next Cineworld Unlimited Screening
Steven Soderbergh’s latest movie, Unsane, is the next movie on the list of films to get a Cineworld Unlimited Screening and heads to a Cineworld near you on the 21 March, 2 days before its official release date.
Unsane follows a young woman as she leaves her hometown to escape a troubled past and begin a new job. But when she is involuntarily committed to a mental institution she is confronted by her greatest fear – but is it real or just her delusion? With seemingly no-one ready to believe her and the authorities unable or unwilling to help, she must confront her fears head-on. With twisting perspectives and a shocking narrative, Unsane asks questions about our perception of reality, our survival instinct and the system that is supposed to take care of us.
The interesting thing about Unsane, and something I can’t wait to see, is that Steven Soderbergh (Magic Mike) has shot the film entirely with an iPhone camera, “It’s designed to be a very visceral, in-your-grill experience,” said Soderbergh, yes folks you read that right and from the trailer it really doesn’t look how I expected it to look, so it will be something to see on a big 4K cinema screen at the Cineworld Unlimited Screening.
It’s also a good note to say that this is also Steven Soderbergh’s first horror movie! Written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, starring Claire Foy (The Crown, Season of the Witch), Juno Temple (Atonement, Mr. Nobody), Jay Pharaoh (Ride a Long, Get a Job), Joshua Leonard (The Blair Witch Project, If I Stay) and Aimee Mullins (Stranger Things, Limitless).
The idea of a horror film shot on an iPhone camera has intrigued me and suffice to say, I’ve got my ticket booked for the Unlimited Screening and I will be bringing you my thoughts on the Steven Soderbergh’s Unsane shortly after the screening at Cineworld on the 21 March, so keep your eyes peeled for that. If you fancy seeing the movie your self and you are a Cineworld Card holder then you can book your tickets now via the Cineworld website.
