Q. Your film has been selected to play at the Horror-on-Sea Film Festival. Can you tell us what we
can expect?
A. Expect to be entertained. Expect to be thrilled. Expect to be disgusted. Expect to be touched (in a legally consensual way).
Q. What were some of your influences for the look and style of the film?
A. Mainly 80s cult sci-fi/horror movies! Sprinkle in a bit of wonky ASTRON-6 visual FX.
Q. Did you make any changes from the original script during filming?
A. Nope. We were too scared of our scriptwriter Lucas Eisele who was on set and knew where we lived.
Q. What were some of your favourite moments during filming?
A. There were a lot of great moments. One highlight was filming the blood explosion from our lead actor, Derek Palmer’s [REDACTED FOR DECENCY]. Seeing that come off as we’d hoped it would, was very cool. Beautiful stuff. We both shed a shared tear.
Q. Did you experience any issues during filming?
A. We did have a shot planned for the thrust 5000 to protrude from the back of an actor’s head. Unfortunately this didn’t stay attached so we had to drop the shot. Fuck you, Gravity!
Q. What makes it stand out as something different in the horror genre?
A. We’re 85% sure this is the first sex-positive film about a killer sex toy.
Q. What do you hope people take away after watching the film?
A. We hope the audience come away from this film less judgemental of vibrators.
Q. Do you have any other projects which you are currently working on?
A. Yes. A film titled ‘God Squad’. Imagine if ‘Lethal Weapon’ and ‘Exorcist’ had an ugly, stupid baby.
Q. If someone was looking to write and direct their own film what advice would you give them?
A. If have you limited budget then write your script with your resources in mind. If you don’t have access to a castle then best not write a castle into a scene. There are creative ways around constraint of money/locations/time – just be mindful of what you have to hand without a shit load of money and then plan accordingly.
