For those of you who follow Blazing Minds, you will have seen us mention a few of the super Life After series of documentaries, such as Life After Neverending Story and Life After Flash, we are very please to bring you the news of the latest in the series from Lisa Downs, Life After Grease.
The teaser trailer was dropped on Monday, and already it’s had over 1M views on IG, and over 700K on TikTok. Lisa is embarking on a new documentary journey that celebrates the most incredible and significant films from her childhood, as well as those of many others. This project aims to become a multi-award-winning series that allows her to relive the magic of my youth.

Grease is a 1978 musical romantic comedy film set in the 1950s. It follows the summer romance between sweet, innocent Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John) and greaser Danny Zuko (John Travolta), who unexpectedly reunite at Rydell High School. As they navigate teenage love, peer pressure, and identity, their relationship is tested by their different social circles. Featuring catchy songs like “Summer Nights” and “You’re the One That I Want,” Grease is a nostalgic, high-energy celebration of youth and rock ‘n’ roll.

Lisa Down has brought us some amazing documentaries in the “Life After…” series, and they are produced with such high standards that they are a joy to watch. The interviews in the series are packed with information that even the biggest fans of the movies may not know about. The latest in the series is looking like it is going to be very much of the same, and it’s going to be one to add to the Blu-ray collection upon its release.
Lisa has said, “As fate would have it, it also turned out that Randal Kleiser, who directed Flight of the Navigator (and whom was so incredibly supportive during the making of Life After the Navigator)….also directed Grease!“

Lisa and the team have done some interviews already for the new project, and now with the Kickstarter launching, support is needed for the next few international shoots, and to really bring the filming home across the finish line for fans of the film and of Lisa’s work to see the finished results.
There are some great names from the movie in the documentary that Lisa has had the chance to chat with including Randal Kleiser (Director), Joel Thurm (Casting Director), Barry Pearl (Doody), Kelly Ward (Putzie), Michael Tucci (Sonny), Didi Conn (Frenchy), Jamie Donnelly (Jan) and many more. Life After Grease is certainly going to be a fascinating watch, with part of the documentary exploring the Grease legacy on stage, so we’ve also interviewed Adrienne Barbeau (Rizzo on Broadway), with plans to interview more cast from the Broadway production.

If you’d like to help support the production, please stop by and check out the Kickstarter for Life After Grease to be part of something special.
Here at Blazing Minds, we wish our good friend Lisa Downs all the best with this new project, and we look forward to seeing the finished product.
