Get ready to rock as SPINAL TAP is back—and louder than ever! After a 15-year hiatus filled with solo projects, personal reinventions, and the occasional mysterious disappearance, David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) are finally reuniting for what might be their ultimate swan song: one last, earth-shaking concert. Legendary (and long-suffering) documentary filmmaker Marty DiBergi (Rob Reiner) returns to capture the chaos, pulling back the curtain on where the band members have been, what’s brought them back together, and whether they can still turn their amps up to eleven without blowing a fuse—literally or figuratively.
True to its roots, the film delivers the same razor-sharp satire, absurd backstage drama, and gleefully over-the-top musical moments that made the original a cult classic. Along the way, expect surprise cameos from real-life rock icons, unexpected rivalries, and a few disasters waiting to happen.
Can these ageing rockers recapture their former glory, or will their reunion become yet another Stonehenge-sized catastrophe? One thing’s for sure: it’s going to be loud, it’s going to be messy, and it’s going to be Spinal Tap.
