Back in 2002 xXx hit the big screens, now after 15 year’s Vin Diesel has come back to the xXx franchise in Return of Xander Cage.
After coming out of self-imposed exile, daredevil operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) must race against time to recover a sinister weapon known as Pandora’s Box, a device that controls every military satellite in the world. Recruiting a new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself entangled in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of government.
XXX: Return of Xander Cage 3D BOOM!
So when the first Xander Cage movie came out back in 2002 I loved the action packed movie, with its amazing stunts that were based on the extreme sports that were in the headlines and very popular at the time, it was and still is a movie that I enjoy watching 15 years later.
The in 2005 xXx 2: State of the Union was released, this time without Vin Diesel and instead Ice Cube took on the role of the new xXx as Darius Stone, not as exciting as the first movie, but still fun to watch.
Now finally Vin Diesel has returned and right from the start of xXx: Return of Xander Cage the film shouts out to you that it is going to be an all-out action movie that won’t tax those brain cells and will have you saying, “Oh come on! That’s impossible!“.
From skiing through a forest, without snow, to surfing the waves on water ski-equipped trials bikes. Crazy yes! But wow is it so much fun to watch and adding the RealD 3D to the movie give it a good effect of depth on the vast amount of stunts and over the top action sequences.
Throw in some amazing martial arts routines from Donnie Yen (Rouge One) and Tony Jaa (Ong Bak), lots of mindless and over the top stunts and you have a movie that is very much like the Fast and the Furious without the high-octane cars, it’s fun but completely bonkers!
If you want to watch a movie that you really don;t have to think too much about then this is one for you, if you love a movie that is non-stop action, then this is also for you. I enjoyed it, I laughed at some of the one-liners and took the movie for what it is.
Overall the fun is what it is, it’s a crazy all-out action movie that continues the xXx franchise.
