It was a late the night, or that should be the early morning, this year saw eight movies being nominated for Best Picture, including “Black Panther,” “BlacKkKlansman,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “The Favourite,” “Green Book,” “Roma,” “A Star is Born” and “Vice.”
Leading with 10 nominations each are “The Favourite and “Roma”, while a big favourite of ours here at Blazing Minds, “A Star is Born” is up for eight Oscars along with “Vice” and “Black Panther”.
The British public
There were some surprises during the night, such as First Man winning Best Visual Effects, when the favourite was Avengers: Infinity War. and Olivia Colman winning Best Leading Actress. The night had a little bit of comedy thrown in as there was no host and Melissa McCarthy certainly brought a smile to my face.
The evening/morning also saw a stunning performance of Shallow with Lady GaGa and Bradley Cooper with a certain look that will no doubt be talked about for a while.
Here’s the full list of Oscars nominations and our predictions in each category and of course the winners.
