Here at Blazing Minds, we are very pleased to announce our partnership with the upcoming Wirksworth 3 Minute Film Festival.
It such an honour to be able to support the film festival in its first year, which will showcase films of 3 minutes and under, the Wirksworth Film Festival will take place from the 15-16th of September as part of the International Wirksworth Arts Festival.
To celebrate the love of shorts films from around the world, the films will be shown at various locations across the town of Wirksworth. The team behind the event have told us, “Part of the philosophy of the festival is to encourage younger filmmakers to submit their work, hence the fact we offer free entry for all under 25’s. As part of the festival, we have already secured a 20th anniversary showing of the Blair Witch Project, which is being introduced in a one-off video by the writer and director Dan Myrick.“
The Wirksworth 3 Minute Film Festival is aimed at young filmmakers aged under 18 years of age, or aged 18-25 we want to hear from you! (Early bird entries, ends May 31st) East Midlands Filmmakers receive free entry to the festival.
UK and International Short films will be charged a small submission fee
All films selected for competition will be shown on the 16th of Sept 2019 at The Northern Light Cinema, Wirksworth (Top ten independent cinema in the UK- Guardian Newspaper)

Wirksworth 3 Minute Film Festival Rules and Terms for Entry
All work must be easily accessed and downloaded, created within the last year. If not in English, then there must be English subtitles. All work must arrive at a point before the festival in an MP4 format.
Films must be 3 minutes or under in total length.
All genres accepted
Not accepted are: Political/Religious ads, gratuitous violence and abuse, or pornography..
If accepted, filmmakers are required to allow the festival to use trailers, clips and film information for promotions.
When entering this festival, we ask you to allow us to use your film in any Best of the Best re-runs of the festival seasons throughout the life of the festival. All films chosen for any future screening will first have a notification to the filmmaker and/or the producer. No film will be screen after the festival in another venue unless the producer or filmmaker is notified and agrees to a future screening.
