Dr. Bernard Nathanson and Dr. Mildred Jefferson square off in a Supreme Court battle that leads to a controversial verdict on abortion in the new film Roe v Wade from Nick Loeb and although it was slow to start it was needed to be historically accurate, however, once the storyline takes hold it is really gripping movie.
Does not matter your views or opinions on the subject, this film really does make you think about both sides involved.
The story follows the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision that guaranteed a woman’s right to abortion and Loeb stars in a lead role playing the real-life Dr. Bernard Nathanson, a prominent abortion doctor who had a change of heart later in his career. Loeb also directed and produced this film.
The acting, directing and writing is really powerful in Roe v Wade. Everyone really put so much emotion into their characters to bring this true story to life.
I have become a fan of films and movies based on true events lately and this does not fail to impress. I can really imagine the struggles the women’s liberation movement went through as they fought for equal rights as was mentioned in this film.
The battle about abortion, from doctors and judges, from both sides that took place. Some really great actors also star from TV and film including Jon Voight (Mission Impossible), Steve Guttenberg (Short Circuit, PoliceAcademy), Sherri Eakin (NCIS: New Orleans) and Wade Williams (Prison Break)
If you are looking for a really great true story that is thought-provoking, emotional and really brings history to life then I recommend this film. It truly deserves a premiere.
I look forward to seeing this again. Another one for the collection.
