It’s great news for fans of the “Chicken Jockey” as A Minecraft Movie makes it two weeks atop the Official Film Chart.
The Jared Hess-directed fantasy adventure comedy movie, based on Mojang Studios’ hit 2011 video game Minecraft, stars Jason Momoa as Garrett, Jack Black as Steve, Danielle Brooks as Dawn, Emma Myers as Natalie and Sebastian Hansen as Henry.
When struggling salesman Steve breaks into a mine and discovers the Orb of Dominance and the Earth Crystal, a mysterious portal opens and pulls four characters into the Overworld; a cubic world that requires imagination in abundance if they’re to escape.
A Minecraft Movie recently made Official Singles Chart history, when Jack Black’s viral track Steve’s Lava Chicken became the shortest song ever to make the UK Top 40, coming in at a total duration of just 34 seconds.
Elsewhere on this week’s Film Chart, Marching Powder marches back into the Top 10 in its sixth week on the chart, up 20 (4), as Mickey 17 jumps seven (5).
