Alice Through The Looking Glass has been a film that many have been waiting for since Tim Burton brought us his take on Alice’s magical journey back in 2010 in Alice in Wonderland.
Now six years later Alice returns to the big screen and to Underland on another magical adventure with her strange friends as she tries to save the Mad Hatter (played by Johnny Depp) by travelling back in time.
Alice Through The Looking Glass
Alice returns to Underland to find that the Hatter is in a very bad state and is dying, only Alice can help save him and she must find ‘Time’ (played by Sacha Baron Cohen) and ask him for help in going back in time to save him.
But she is warned that going back in time is very dangerous, but, she choices to ignore his warnings.
And so the magical journey starts as Alice’s tries the best she can to save the Hatter and Underland.

Returning Back to Underland
Back in 2010 when we were introduced to Tim Burton’s vision, the main characters were more involved with Alice’s adventure, in Alice Through the Looking Glass, they take a slightly back seat as Alice races through time on a solo mission.
One of the wonderful things about the first movie was the interaction between the characters, especially the Mad Hatter and Alice was something that brought the charm to the movie, but this time around that is really lacking, which is a real shame.
But still, Alice Through the Looking Glass is a fun ride through some of the history of Underland as we discover some of the history behind the Red Queen, Mad Hatter and other characters.
The special visuals of the film are dreamy, the bright vibrant colours give a lovely fantasy feel and the 3D works very well as Alice races through time the 3D certainly brings out the depth as she travels.
Although Tim Burton decided not to direct this one, he produced the film instead, it still has that “Burton” feel to it, but not as much as if he had directed it, Danny Elfman is onboard with the soundtrack, which is not on par with other Elfman soundtracks, but it still works nicely for the movie.
