When I say the word ‘indie,’ what images come to mind? Probably a white guy, long hair, quietly strumming an acoustic guitar and generally seeming sad. He is easily recognisable as a soft-spoken, artistic singer/songwriter reciting poetic verses in a gentle alto right? Wrong in reality Indie Music is a diverse broad genre that includes EDM Dance, Rock, Bubble Gum POP, Punk Rock To Experimental and to some peoples surprise classical music. On the technical side Indie Music is any music that is not put out by a major label, which nowdays is the vast majority of music out there. Long gone are the days when artists need a label to be heard. It however still necessary to get oneself out there properly, on average 3000 songs come out every month and close to an additional 4000 music videos come out every single month. Indie Musicians need to stand out from what sometimes is the mundane lick.
