Department store Clares of Llandudno, which underwent a radical facelift in 2014 and now offers a unique edit of fashion, accessories and homeware within a boutique style setting is getting behind local finalist Gemma Hartery in the run up to the Miss Wales Final.
Gemma who is aged 19 and lives in Old Colwyn a mere 10 minutes from the store is one of forty girls who will compete for the chance to be named Miss Wales at a glittering award ceremony on Saturday 7th March.
Claire McElroy, Store Manager of Clares of Llandudno, said: “We’re delighted to back local girl Gemma for her chance to be named Miss Wales 2015. Last year Clare’s strengthened its fashion credentials, introducing a number of new brands not previously available in the town, to our collections. This partnership with Gemma, a young, vivacious girl who is passionate about using the competition to encourage others to strive for their goals by proving there’s no reason why they can’t be the face of Wales, despite coming from a small town, further strengthens our fashion credentials. We can’t wait for the final and hope all her dreams come true on 7th March and call for everyone to get voting by texting Welsh 16 Gemma.”

Gemma Hartery said: “Shopping in Clare’s is more akin to shopping in London than in Llandundno. Before the store contacted me I wasn’t aware that many of the brands it sold were available in Llandudno. Brands like Seasalt, White Stuff, Crew Clothing, Mexx, Esprit, Phase Eight, Braintree, Masai, Adini and Capri and for the boys Gant, White Stuff, Animal, Fynch Hatton, Crew Clothing and Esprit. It also has a brilliant Moda in Pelle fashion shoe department which has lots of great going out and casual shoes. I’m delighted to be supported by Clares and will be definitely shopping there more often.’
