From the makers of Dawning of the Dead and Cute Little Buggers comes action packed revenge thriller Blade of the Assassin. Produced by Jopia Productions, Movieworks Int. and Brainy Monkey Post Production. Blade of the Assassin was filmed entirely in Oxfordshire in England, the female led action film tells the tale of two assassin sisters caught up in a battle for their lives. They are pushed to their limits to save their best friend in a brutal battle to death after unknowingly taking on a job that puts them at the fury of a group of crime lords. The cast is led by Claudia Grace McKell and Sophie M Reed supported by Kelley Costigan, Tim Parker and Mark Johnston.

Director and co-producer Tony Jopia wanted to capture the feel of the great American 80s Ninja movies but give it the grit of British gangster flicks. Blade of the Assassin is all about revenge, everyone in it has a reason to get back at someone which gives them all reasons to kick some serious ass…and asses are definitely kicked in this movie. It’s a relentless roller coaster ride filled with martial arts, fast cars, weapons and assassinations.’Â

Stunt Choreographer and Co-Producer Mark Johnston wanted to showcase his stunt and fight team with some of the effective techniques of the Bujinkan martial arts he has trained in for 30 years. He says ‘Blade of the Assassin allowed me and the Movieworks International team to grab it and run with it to get some great sequences, martial arts and stunts all in one action packed production’
With various distributors and festivals already chasing the film, Blade of the Assassin hopes to be released in November 2019. Look out for trailers coming soon.
