I’m a massive fan of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner and when the news came of a sequel I wasn’t really sure if I was pleased or a little disappointed that the amazing classic movie was getting a follow-up!

But after seeing the teaser trailer for Blade Runner 2049, I am now getting a little excited to see the film which is due for release in 2017. Blade Runner is a movie that has always been in my heart when it comes to Sci-Fi movies, being adapted from Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? the film introduced us to Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a “blade runner,” who must hunt down rogue replicants (human-seeming androids) and retire them.

So from what I’ve seen from the Blade Runner 2049 trailer, it does look like Harrison Ford is passing the torch to Ryan Gosling‘s character, but besides that I haven’t got much of a clue how the film is going to pan out upon its UK Cinema release. So for now, all I can tell you is what the Official Synopsis states for the film.

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years. – Courtesy of Alcon Entertainment

The film also stars Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis, and Sylvia Hoeks, and will arrive in UK Cinemas Oct. 6, 2017.

As of yet, the only character name announced, via IMDB, is that of Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), but as soon as we have any further information about the movie, we’ll certainly bring it your way.
