Audiences are invited to let their inner beasts roam free Halloween week with the release of Werewolf Serenade, a knowingly campy, unapologetically low-budget indie dramedy about a Gen X couple gamely facing a bout of werewolfism.

The Petaluma, CA-made feature is the second collaboration of filmmakers Daedalus Howell and Kary Hess (writer-director-actor and producer/ production designer, respectively), whose first feature, Pill Head, is an art-house cult fave. Their new film is, according to the Marin Independent Journal, “…A delightfully disconcerting fusion of cheapo matinee-horror filmmaking with Howell’s highbrow wit and lyrical dialogue…”

Werewolf Serenade Synopsis: After the sudden death of the chair of the parapsychology department at Freestone School of the Arts, burnt-out film professor Peter MacTire is tapped by the dean to finish a mysterious research project—generously funded by enigmatic benefactor Konrad Beissen. With both the school’s future and his marriage to cellist Julia at risk, MacTire takes the job—unaware it will plunge him into an occult conspiracy that will change his life forever.
