David Ginola first in Kadeena Cox second in, already said “she doesn’t like spiders, rats etc”. Possible could be voted for the trials. Arlene Philips choreographer and strictly judge, she says she’s not scared. But maybe the public may vote for her, to see how tough she is. Her phrase “dance it out and you will be fine”.
Matty Olympic swimmer. Doesn’t like mice. So there’s a high possibility of being voted with anything with rats.
Realising they are of some sport, they thought there was a conspiracy. As ever Ant and Dec brought the comedy to the table. Louise Minchin from BBC breakfast was next to meet up with everyone. Not keen on cockroaches, spiders, give her “sweaty palms”.
When Louise come in she was in a completely different place to the other 4. So already excitement of there being a competition between two camps. Naughty boy music producer was next. Naughty boy already feels he hasn’t thought the whole thing through. He was used to “clamping” in Glastonbury. So wasn’t sure what to expect.
Smoothie was next, glamorous tv and radio presenter. She has a phobia of enclosed spaces, bugs spiders and anything going up her vagina. She was very focused on the “poo situation”. She hates heights, which from past experience usually it’s textbook she could be getting voted for anything to do with heights trials. And also, if anything like last year, there’s height involved in the first trial for them all before going to the castle, and usually involves their kit.
Danny Miller, I’m so excited about him going into the castle. I already have him in my top 3 to win, so hoping he doesn’t disappoint. Such a nice guy in real life, and just become a new dad.
He knows he’s gonna struggle with the eating challenge and was already gagging just thinking about it, during an interview. Helicopters were heard and seen in the distance, and Danny, Louise, Snoochie and Naughty Boy were already “bricking it”, as to what awaited them. Cut to the sport group of celebs, and a helicopter had landed for them in the country manor grounds they were at.
Already struggling with the helicopter ride, and yet usually that’s the fun part. It was time to see what was in store for our brand new celebs, now that they saw each other from the helicopters, and then went in different directions!
Cut to the break, it was all a bit full-on. Had to have a brew and calm myself down. This was just the beginning and was so so excited.
Ant and Dec returned and the comedy had already begun, and that was just from the helicopter ride. A vast quarry awaited the Celebs. Then the celebs were met with Ant and Dec on top of the quarry. Looks like they were about to be walking a plank thousands of feet high. Danny Milker already saying “is it too late to go home?”
Snoochie was already saying she could “feel pop coming out of her bum”. I know it’s already going to start to be a good series. So the first challenge, head to head, and fighting for keys to the castle, and losers will be put into the clink, basic rations. Already celebs are virtually crying about the height of the challenge. And the fact they are going head to head.
The Challenge
As the first challenge began, we took another break, which was definitely needed. Time to see how competitive these celebs are, and who will conquer their fear. Got to admit, with the camera work, I was feeling dodgy myself, knocking me sick haha.
Celebs picked the ones they wanted in the best camp.
Another break came up, and when Ant and Dec returned they were attacked by a fly, claiming they’ve only ever encountered flies in Australia.
Now we have our teams with their colours. David, Arlene, Danny and Naughty boy were the yellows(in the clink)(yellow) Whilst Louise, Snoochie, Matty and Kadeena were picked for the red team. We were then taken to the woods where they were faced with putting hands in boxes and critters featured in the boxes included snakes.
David already keeping spirits up and singing to Arlene, keep her going.
After all celebs reached the castle, it was time to meet celebrity 9 and 10. Frankie Bridge was the first to get in there, closely followed by Richard Madeley.
The first vote, from the public, meant that the first challenge was down to both Frankie and Richard being chosen. They are competing against each other. So Richard became a member of the yellow team, and Frankie became a member of red team. The challenge was turrets of terror. 3 floors. Obviously now containing critters. Klaxon sounded. Time for another break.
There was a nice welcome back after the break from Ant and Dec. So we come back to Richard Madeley and Frankie Bridge going head to head in the 3 turrets of terror. It was an intense trial, both head to head throughout. But it was Frankie that won it for the red team, and gained the keys to the castle. Whilst the yellow team were sent to clink.
So we entered the final commercial break of the episode, and it showed the celebs entering the castle, and the celebs entering clink.
So we saw the accommodation for both teams, and now we ready and excited for what’s to come. I always like it when the teams are split, and are completely out of their comfort zone, and you see how each celeb copes throughout.
Watching the two separate camps, and already getting the campfires started. Then there was the small matter of food. Red team had won the keys to the castle, so they were treated to Rabbit as their first meal in the castle, whereas the yellow team were treated to…….yep, rice and beans.
Naughty boy had his spices that he had crushed in his sock confiscated. I have to say I appreciated his honesty, but did he really think that he would get away with it? Lol.
Nice seeing the celebs in their separate teams bonding already.
The final part of the show saw the public voting for which member of yellow team would be facing the trial “The Castle’s Dreaded Diner”, and it was written in the stars that the public voted for Danny Miller, especially as he revealed that his gag reflex was bad. Danny, head in his hands, was mortified and had the realisation that it was an eating challenge. It was lovely that Arlene and David were talking him through it, and trying to support him ready for the challenge.
Well, what a jam-packed first episode it was, I went through every emotion watching it.
Well done Ant and Dec for bringing it once again, and providing fantastic entertainment! Day one of I’m a Celeb! Done! Best first episode ever of the series collection over the years!
Really looking forward to how the campmates survive, and especially the first eating challenge with Danny Miller, and we find out who he will be facing in the head to head trial!
