I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here kicks off the new season with a Cliff Hanger!

It was a welcome return of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here as we were introduced to the show in Wales by Ant and Dec, Dec had a fantastic go at pronouncing Gwrych and fair dos he did a great job and he added a comical, “well that’s how I pronounce it anyway“. Tonight as the ten contestants arrived in Wales and were thrown straight in with a cliff hanger of a task as they abseiled down a cliff face in Angelsey.

As we were introduced to the show in Wales by Ant and Dec, Dec had a fantastic go at pronouncing Gwrych and fair dos he did a great job and he added a comical, “well that’s how I pronounce it anyway“.

But it didn’t start well for poor Jordan North releasing his stomach contents with the sheer fear of going over the edge of the cliff face to answer questions to get the code to release their packs that were hanging on the cliff.

The first look at Gwrych Castle at the start of the show looked amazing, I’ve spent many years visiting the castle and for me, it has never looked so stunning with the amazing lighting and visual effects of the mist and like rolling from the windows of the building. As I mentioned on Sunday Breakfast on BBC 5 Live early this morning, I’m A Celebrity is fantastic for Abergele and the surrounding areas and is going to help with the tourism for Wales and after seeing the fantastic shots and use of the local areas for the cliff task it’s going to add to the love for Wales that many have.

After the ten celebs completed the cliff, they entered Gwrych Castle in a nice slow-mo shot followed by yet another advert, followed by them telling us about their thoughts of being in “a real castle” and the rickety beds that they have, they all seem to be in good spirits while they checked out the quarters that are set inside Gwrych.

Shane Richie made his way to the hammock and fell out of it, deciding that the hammock doesn’t work, priceless TV gold, Vernon Kay had his sights set on the firepit to get it going and keep everyone cosy and warm.

The Gates to Hell trial was set for all the celebrities and this trial and they had to work all together to win 10 stars for a meal for each star, but nothing is easy in I’m A Celebrity and they weren’t in the locked chambers on their own, those pesky creepy crawls were added to the chambers to hinder the celebrities tasks! Thankfully they managed 7 out of the 10 stars so a great start for them working together as a team.

And what was their first meal Welsh Rabbit, yes you read that right Rabbit, not Rarebit, mmmmm yummy. The public vote was then announced live from Gwrycnh Castle and the Republic voted for …. Was both Shane and Jordan to take on the Viper Vault! Now we just have to wait until episode 2 to see how Shane and Jordan manage the Viper Vault.
