MILITARY WIVES – NEW SONG BY ROBBIE WILLIAMS & GUY CHAMBERS – ‘HOME THOUGHTS FROM ABROAD’
Military Wives is the inspirational story of friendship, love, and support on the home front and in celebration, Robbie Williams and long-time collaborator Guy Chambers have written a brand-new track for the official soundtrack, ‘Home Thoughts From Abroad’. Speaking about the song, Robbie and Guy said: “It’s always a joy to work together on new music, and we’re thrilled that our new song is featured in this special film. We’re really proud of the track and can’t wait for you all to hear it.”
Williams first started working with Chambers in 1996 when they co-wrote some of the biggest hits in a career-defining generational soundtrack. Songs the pair have written together include ‘Angels’, ‘Let Me Entertain You’, ‘Millennium’, ‘Feel’, ‘No Regrets’ and ‘Rock DJ’. Following a decade of not working together from 2002 to 2012, the pair reunited to work together on Robbie’s last two studio albums ‘Swings Both Ways’ and ‘The Heavy Entertainment Show’, both of which went to Number 1 in the UK album charts. More recently, Guy and Robbie also collaborated on the RSC Musical The Boy in The Dress, David Walliams’ heart-warming comedy, which opened in Stratford Upon Avon in November. Boy in The Dress gained 5-star reviews from the Independent, Financial Times, Broadway World and here on Blazing Minds. Guy also realised his solo piano album ‘Go Gentle into the Light’ last year which reached over 6M streams.
In addition to a Williams/Chambers original song written specifically for the film, MILITARY WIVES will feature a score penned by BAFTA® Nominee and Mission: Impossible-Fallout composer, Lorne Balfe. Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty) directs Oscar® Nominee and BAFTA® Winner Kristin Scott Thomas (Darkest Hour) and BAFTA® Nominee Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe) in this feel-good crowd-pleaser.
