Create Your Killer is a short horror film written and directed by Sarah Giercksky. It stars Mikael Björkman, Emanuel Markskog, Jasmine Martínez, Alessa Perlgård, Sofia Perlgård, and Sarah Giercksky. The night turns deadly when three friends stumble upon a game called, “Create Your Killer”.
Every now and then a piece of cinema comes along that is completely innovative and breaks the mould. Not only does it challenge the way you internally view things, but it changes the way you perceive films going forward. It truly inspires and provides hope for fans that unique content and original ideas are still capable of being created and produced.
This film is absolutely fantastic. Stepping into it I honestly didn’t know what to think. The premise was so simple, yet really kind of genius when you think about it. It’s certainly one of those duh moments where you want to slap yourself for not thinking of it first. The costumes and overall generic appearance of the Killers were so amazingly awful it leaves you bloodthirsty for more.
There isn’t much of a storyline, as it’s a short film, however, everything flows beautifully and the concept is phenomenal. The dialogue could use a little work and the lighting could have been better, also the editing needed tightening, but aside from that, the only complaint is that it should have been longer. The special effects are amazing and the practical gore is brilliantly executed.
Create Your Killer is hilarious, terrifying, and just plain awesome. It’s exactly what the horror genre is about. It’s fun, scary and one hell of a good time. Do yourself a favour and track this one down, you can thank me later. It’s creative, intelligent, passionate filmmaking and definitely worthy of acclaim.
