We have some fantastic news for cinema fans, on Saturday 31 August 2024, cinemas across the UK will once again offer everyone the opportunity to experience the joy of cinema from just £4 at all participating venues and on all formats for National Cinema Day 2024.
National Cinema Day, a popular one-day celebration of going to the movies, will return on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at over 630 venues across the UK. On that day, cinema tickets will be available to all customers starting at just £4 at major UK cinema operators including Cineworld as well as at a wide range of smaller cinema operators and venues.
Mark your calendars for 31st August, National Cinema Day! It’s the perfect opportunity for friends and family to enjoy a wide variety of films at affordable prices. From big studio blockbusters to independent gems, there’s something for everyone. With great food and drink options, surround sound systems and large screens, the cinema offers an unparalleled and immersive experience for everyone to enjoy together. Don’t miss the chance to experience the magic of the movies on National Cinema Day and beyond!
Developed by the cross-industry body Cinema First, with the support of the Film Distributors’ Association and the UK Cinema Association, National Cinema Day was launched in 2022 and was an immediate success, achieving 1.46 million admissions in a single day after just one week of promotion, three times the average daily attendance. Cinema First repeated the initiative in 2023, exceeding the 2022 audience with 1.56 million admissions, an increase of 6%, and a total box office of £5.2m. With the continued support of all exhibitors, film distributors and studios, 2024 promises to be even bigger and better!
Cinema First is also delighted to welcome a host of brilliant brands on board in 2024, including Coca-Cola™, Millie’s Cookies, Bolt and Open Table, further enhancing and elevating National Cinema Day to ensure a truly fun, engaging and affordable day out for everyone.
