Noor features an intense, no-holds-barred sound with the harsh hip-hop odes of “Phoenix.” Production goes for a physical and soulful approach. Word choice has a profound quality, for the introspective vibes run deep within this particular story.

Every track builds off the last, for there is a kaleidoscopic aspect to the sound, shifting colours in irresistible ways. A whole world comes into focus, for with each reiteration, the piece has an exquisite charm to all of it, one that feels outright gorgeous to behold.

“Sinkin’ (feat. JakeFromSpace)” goes for a warbled, woozy sound one that has a delicacy about it. Bass hits with a sheer heaviness on “Money on My Mind (feat. Trippadelix)” for its psychedelic charm. Within the piece, there are nods to Odd Future’s infinite weirdness, featuring a sound that feels intense and spaced out simultaneously.

On the title track, “Phoenix” races on by in a weird, wonderful blur for the vocal treatment, making sure the song has a disorienting experience. Nimble percussive elements skitter above “Conquest/Overthrown (feat. Morgan Gold)” for the song goes for a tense, anxious vibe. Hip-hop with a baroque take makes “Long Live the King” rather regal in its celebratory spirit. Bringing it all home is the giddy sound of “Who I Am.”

“Phoenix” proves to be a neat mixture of ambient and industrial aesthetics, for Noor’s storytelling has a highly focused, fierce quality to it.
