Anne Robinson the so-called “Queen of Mean” is bow out of The Weakest Link, the show which she is well-known for sparring with the contestants, making then feel really small 😆

Anne RobinsonYes after eleven years of Anne being at the helm of the show, she has decided to leave the show, she told Guardian “It’s been superb. So it is a hard decision. If there’s anything about longevity in television, it’s about knowing what to take and what to turn down, and what to stop.”

It has also been mentioned that the makers of the show will not be finding someone else to take her place and that the show would come to an end.

There are special shows in production at the moment and the last shows will be aired in the spring of 2012. It will be sad to see Anne go from the show and I for one will miss the playful banter between her and the contestants, I’ll certainly miss “You are the weakest link, goodbye” in the only way that Anne can say it.

Liam Keelan, the controller of daytime, said on his blog:

“The Weakest Link has been a hugely important and much-loved part of the BBC’s schedules for well over a decade, but without Anne’s iconic persona and acerbic wit (some of which I’ve been on the receiving end as a commissioner), we have decided that we won’t be recommissioning any new episodes following her departure.”
