Last night at Cineworld it was the chance in a lifetime to see an all-time classic on the big screen for the first time and to celebrate its landmark 50th anniversary, Park Circus brought us Bruce Lee’s legacy-defining martial arts classic Enter the Dragon back to the big screen in a spectacular new 4K restoration which also included a lovely introduction from Bruce’s daughter, Shannon Lee.
Enter The Dragon has always been a favourite of mine when it comes to Bruce Lee’s movies, I think it may be down to it was the first time that I was introduced to him back in 1981 when the movie was first released on VHS, back then we have a 4:3 ratio version of the movie and not the glorious 2.39:1 ratio that we have now on DVD, Blu-ray, Digital and this one off 50th Anniversary release in the cinema.
The first time I saw the movie it took my breath away and I was fascinated by how fast Bruce Lee moved when the fighting scenes came on it’s still something that gives me a wow moment watching the movie so many times over the years.

Enter The Dragon how does the 4K restoration release look?
I’ve seen many movies back on the big screen that have had the remastered treatment, some good, some not so good, but Enter The Dragon looks stunning on the big screen in this 4K Restoration release. So much of the movie is sharp and colourful giving the movie that “just out of the can” look.
There were a couple of scenes that did have a slight blur, but I’m sure this is down to the original source material that the 4K restoration was taken from, but overall it was amazing to see the movie looking so amazing on the big screen. Not only does it look good but it sounds amazing as well, Lalo Schifrin’s soundtrack is such a joy to hear on the powerful cinema speakers, the opening music itself had the hairs on the back of my neck standing to attention.
This 4K remastered edition of Enter The Dragon also seems to have a 5.1 sound mix to boost up the music and action sequences and it works perfectly.
Enter The Dragon has always been a movie that I have loved, it’s the movie that introduced me to Lee’s previous work which I also became a big fan of. It was such a treat to finally see the movie on the big screen and it’s a cinema visit that I will never forget.

Massive thanks to Park Circus and Cineworld for bringing cinemagoers the chance to see such a phenomenal movie back on the big screen.
